Does your company Amit and Naroop use any form of social media to promote your services/work? Yes we do use social media services for the purposes of our business. If yes, what social media sites do you use? We mainly use Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. At the moment we have over 5 thousand followers on Twitter. This is a great way for us to engage with our customers and potential clients. Why do you choose to promote Amit and Naroop through social media sites? To create awareness of us as a brand and what we are doing. It plays into our long-term plan of having our own creative school as well as books, branded products and other photography related products and services. We also like to inspire others to follow their passion and social media helps us to reach the masses and spread the word. Has social media advertising and promotion helped your company in any particular way? Please state Yes - It allows artists, records labels, brands and agencies to keep up to date with what we are doing and by seeing our latest work it helps us to get rebooked for other jobs. Have you incorporated social media logos into your website to promote your company? Have you noticed business growth or increased reputation through social media? Yes - At the moment we dont have the logos, but we do have links to our twitter and Facebook page. Our reputation has definitely grown. People are aware of who we are and what we do. With social media, news travels fast, so before we know it, loads of people know about the latest photo shoot weve just done. Do you see potential growth in organisations using social media? Why do you think this is? Yes - As long as their product/service is good, then I can definitely see it leading to growth. People like to talk about the latest, newest product or service they have just used, so a new company with an innovative product or service should see good rewards from social media, especially is the product/service has a cool brand image.

What are the disadvantages of having many different social media services for your company? 1. Having to update all our social networking accounts can be very time consuming, as there are only two of us working in this organisation. 2. The risk of having negative comments on a social networking site can be of a disadvantage as it can lead to bad publicity. Who manages your social media sites? It tends to be very difficult as Amit and myself are the main individuals in this organisation, I will update the sites as frequently as I can and when I have time, if not then Amit tends to do the same. What impact does this have on your day-to-day life? We frequently need to update our social networking sites as we constantly have new trends and services. But because we are busy with our shoots, we cannot post information on our blog as quickly as possible, so therefore the audience will find our weeks later about what we have been up too. What is the difference between small companies and large companies using social media to market? Well, I dont think there is a major difference. Small companies like ourselves use social media to market our business and make us more recognised. Social media in general is a great way for organisations to increase sales. Do you think social media is a great way for your company to do market research? Yes, It is important for us to know what exactly our clients like; this is a great way for Amit & Naroop to be successful, as they will be satisfying the clients needs. If I was to create some sort of an app for Amit & Naroop, what would you like this to include in order to benefit your company? As previously I discussed the importance of market research, I would have this element embedded into an app so all our followers can reply to our tweets, this results in us knowing what our clients want and how to improve for potential customers.

Evaluation I thought the most suitable way to start of my first artefact, was to do an in depth analysis of the online survey, I completed as part of my primary research for my document. This survey was sent out online to 35 people of different occupations and age groups around 18-45. It was also sent out to pupils who own their own business, the benefits of this was that I would get an insight into what members of organisations thinks about social media and how they use it for their services. As my question is based on why do organisations use social media marketing? I thought the best way to find out why social media is popular with companies is to have an interview with a small organisation called Amit & Naroop. From this interview, the photography company outline the importance of having different forms of social media to promote their business as well as increase sales. It also allows their customers to keep up to date with latest offers and see what they are doing on a regular bases. Through this interview it is evident that companies like to promote through social media as it creates awareness as a brand. This is important, as organisations like to be well recognised and established in society. From looking at this artefact I have learnt that social media is a marketing tool or all types of organisations, varying from small to large. These businesses will see a potential growth in sales the more they market their services and products through social media. This artefact then leads to my second, which will be testing a small focus group of around 10 individuals, showing how they use social media via their smart phone and desktop. I will record and take pictures of these pupils showing how they view social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter as evidence of testing.
