In Sanskrit word 'ashwini' stands for horsewoman and the word 'kumara' indicate eternal early life. The myth behind name of him is that at the time of impregnation Sanjna (Lord Surya's wife) had imagined shape of a horse. Due to this lunar constellation, is called horse woman. The "Ashwini" Nakshatra has been named on Ashwini kumara. Ashwini kumara are represented as twins with the head of a horse, and a human body. These twins are related to healing and everlasting youth. According to the Rig-Veda, Ashwini kumara are the Lords of Speed, "the swift movers, the falcons of light, riders of the task force horse, responsive and brilliant". Lord Ashwini Kumaras are observing as the embodiments of knowledge and speed. Ashwini Kumaras also symbolize the momentary moments among night and morning, and indication sunrise (knowledge).

The word Yama stands for twin brother and Lord Yama is Son of Lord Surya and Sanjana. Yama is also known as the lord of justice and is sometimes referred to as Dharma, in reference to his reliable devotion to sustain order and obedience to synchronization. In the Upanishad, Lord Yama is depicted as a teacher and is father of Yudhisthir, the eldest brother among five Pandavas. It is believed that lord Yama

is incarnated as Vidura in the Mahabharata period. Lord Yama is the definitive controllers of lord Shiva and lord Vishnu. Lord Yama is revealed with a depressing look with an impressive crown on his head. He holds a mace in his one hand, and a rope in the other. He uses rope to pull down soul from dead body. He gives punishment as life of punishment to the living beings according to the Karma. The Vahana of Lord Yama is a black water buffalo and guardian of south direction.

Yama - The Lord of Death


The ancient Vedas declares Yama as the lord of death in Hinduism. Yama lives in his palace named Kalichi. According to Vedic tradition, Yama was the first human who died and spotted the way to the celestial abodes, and became the ruler of the deceased.

The devtas are the wise entities of the heaven and Yama is one of the wisest of all. Yama is also referred as Dharma because he is believed to be the lord of justice. He is dedicated towards maintaining order and harmony. He is visualized as green or red body, wearing blood-red robes and fiery red staring eyes on horrible face. He is seen riding buffalo and holds a loop of rope in his left hand and a mace. Scriptures says that he is the son of Surya and Yami, or Yamuna, is his twin sister. Both the sons of Surya, Shani and Yama are judge. Shani gives bad or good results according to deeds that he has performed all through ones life when living in this world whereas Yama award the results of one's deeds after death. Chitragupta keeps track of actions of human beings on the earth in "Book of Destiny". A person is sent to Swarg or Nark after their death, and also the incarnation is decided on the basis of their Karma. Thus Chitragupta is the god's attendant. Popularly it is believed that when the person's lifespan is over Yama sends his attendants to earth to bring the person to his palace. He was also worshiped as a son of Vivasvat (eighth son of Aditi) and Saranya. He is the protector of south direction. He reports to either Vishnu or Shiva. In Katha Upanishad, Yama is portrayed as a coach. He fathered Yudhisthira, hence Yudhisthira is also known as Dharmaraja. He has incarnated as Vidura during Mahabharata period.

Agni dev is the other name of Lord Agni which is best known as Lord of fire. Lord Agni has the second position in Hinduism after the Lord Indra. According to the Hindu mythology Agni is one of most significant God in the Vedic gods. The most importance role of Lord Agni is in fire give up and rituals. Due to consume fire for offerings to the gods, he is take part as the mediator in between heaven and earth. To give respect Lord Agni, Hindus are estimated to face fires in the correct direction for different purposes. When they facing East fire should be used for give up to the gods, when facing in South, the fire should be stand for sacrifices to the feelings of dead. And lastly Fires should face west when it used for cooking. They were born from a lotus created by Lord Brahma (the inventor in Hindu mythology). In accordance to the Hindu mythology and Vedic scriptures Lord Agni as red hued, having three legs, seven tongues, seven hands, and two faces. These two faces of Lord Agni are indicative to beneficent and critical qualities. The Seven rays of light are comes from them. Lord Agni is a rider of ram and also the creator of a fire weapon called 'agneyastra'. Lord Agni is the custodian of Southeast direction. It is same as the fires as burns all impurities, the wearer will be eliminate of all sins and achieve purity of thought and endeavor. Lord Agni is one of three supreme deities of the Rig Veda, i.e. Agni, Vayu and Surya. All these three Gods control over earth, air and sky respectively.

Agni Devta
Lord Agni is the god of fire. Agni dev is said to god Indras twin brother may be because of his immense power and vigor like Indra. There are controversies about his parents. Some say Dyaus Pita and Prithvi are his parents whereas according to some Kasyapa and Aditi are his parents; still other believes Agni originated from from lotus created by Brahma. He is considered only next to Indra according to Hindu mythology. The Vedic scriptures describe Lord Agni as fiery red colored body, having three legs, seven tongues, seven hands, sharp golden teeth, two faces smeared with ghee with black eyes and wild, black hair. The two faces are indicative of his beneficent and destructive qualities. Seven tongues represent seven rays of light radiated from his body. Ram or male sheep is his Vahan (vehicle). Some images also show him riding on a chariot which is being pulled by goats or parrots. Lord Agni is the responsible deity for Southeast direction. The family of Agni consists of his two sisters, Dawn and Night, his wife Svaha, and son Karttikeya. The Vedic god, Agni is the messenger of the gods and the acceptor of sacrifice as well. Agni is the spark of life that is in every living thing. Agni mediates between god and mankind. Fire always asks for some sacrifice so he is prayed and offered goodies before starting any auspicious work. 4.

ROHINI Chandra

Lord Brahma is also the Hindu God of Creation. Here are the many legends stated behind Lord Brahma as: according to the Vedic Puranas, Lord Brahma is self born (without mother) in the lotus flower and grow from Vishnu navel at the beginning of universe. Due to this Legend they are also called Nabhija. By the other legends, Lord Brahma formed himself by first creating water. After some time he deposited a seed that later became the golden egg. From this golden egg Lord Brahma (the creator) was born as Hiranyagarbha. The remaining part of this golden egg extended into Brahm-anda or Universe. Lord Brahma formed many gods and placed them in different worlds: Agni on earth, Vayu in the atmosphere and Surya in the sky. Traditionally Lord Brahma has four heads, four faces and four arms. Among these four head, each explains one of the four Vedas. One of his hands is representing holding a stick in the form of a spoon which is used in pouring holy Ghee or oil into a sacrificial pyre which is the symbolism of sacrifices. Lord Brahma carries a rosary in the upper right hand, a Veda in the upper left hand, a kamandalu (water

pot) in the lower left hand, and bestows beauty with His lower right hand. The four faces of Lord Brahma are symbolizing sacred knowledge of four Vedas (Rig, Yajur, Sama, and Atharva) that essential for creating universe. Four arms signify the four directions and thus stand for power and supremacy of Lord Brahma. The vehicle of Lord Brahma's is a swan (Hans) that known for their decision between good and bad. Goddess Saraswati is the wife of Lord Brahma, which is also the Goddess of knowledge and art.

5. MRIGAIRA Mangal

In Sanskrit Chandra stands for 'bright and shining'. Chandra has the second place in Navagraha. Moon (Chandra) is the planet, which rules our emotions, thoughts and fortune. Chandra (Moon) embellishes the Lord Shiva's head. In astrology Moon represents our emotions, fortune, fame, memory, success, happiness, and comforts. Lord Chandra rules the Zodiac sign Cancer and tides of sea. Their ruling day is Monday and moonstone and pearl are his gems. Silver is the metal used for Lord Chandra. Chandra puja is done to reduce effects of Chandra and will get Relaxation, peace of mind, moon weak in horoscope, fortune, fame, memory, success, happiness, and comforts.

6. ARUDRA Rahu

Lord Shiva is oldest gods of India and also known as destroyer and regenerator. The main attributes of Lord Shiva' are the trident that symbolize the three gunas and snakes show beyond the power of death and poison and also set for Kundalini energy. Lord Shiva lives at the sacred mountain of Kailash. Lord Shiva shows the most important goodness in Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram or Truth, Goodness and Beauty. Lord Shiva's first wife was Sati and second wife was Parvati who also known as Uma, Gauri, Durga, Kali and Shakti. He has two sons, Ganesha and Kartikeya. The vehicle of Lord Shiva is white bull Nandi (the enjoyable). Mostly Lord Shiva sits on a tiger skin. Shiva Nataraj dance shows both destruction and creation of the universe. This disclose the cycles of death, birth and rebirth. His Dance of Bliss is stands for the wellbeing of world. Lord Shiva wears a moon sickle in his hair and a snake coil or a string of sculls around his neck. He holds a trident in his one hand representing the creation, sustenance, and destruction of the universe, an axe in the other hand symbolizing the flouting of ties with the material world. There is a water jug with them included in his

likenesses. Lord Shiva is known by different names as Bholenath, which means the guiltless God, Rudra is consider as the destroyer of evil and sorrow, Ardh narishvara which symbolizes both man and woman and Shiva as Shankara as the achiever of good. Lord Shiva has "Trinetra" (divine vision). He is well known as "Nilakantha" (blue necked).

7. PUNARVASU Guru

Aditi means someone who is unbound and unfettered. It seems that she has no proper definition. She is featureless physically. Her outstanding aspect is her motherhood. Apparently she is considered as mother of seven Adityas or the group of seven or eight Gods. These Gods include Mitra, Bhaga, Aryaman, Varuna, Daksa, Amasa. It is also considered that Aditi is also the mother of Lord Indra. However Aditi has no male partner mentioned in the Vedas. She is often prayed for wealth and safety. As a mother she provides nourishment. The name Aditi is derived from da indicating another aspect of her character. She is free soul and unbound by anything. This is evident from the hymns that have been addressed to her. Aditi plays the role of Guardian of rta or the cosmic moral order. She provides support to creatures by enforcing rta. Aditi is a goddess in the Hindu pantheon, mother to the gods of the heavens. She is a part of the pantheon, but at the same time is above and beyond the pantheon, in a similar fashion to the three greater gods. She is sometimes referred to as the womb of space, and in this role can be seen as the female Brahma, creator of all. Aditi is seen in some myth cycles as the consort of Brahma. Aditi is the virgin of the heavens, and can be seen as the ultimate mother of all beings and all things in the world of forms, from the gods down to the lowliest creature. Personified, she is the goddess of the past and the future, of all space, of fertility, and of consciousness itself. Aditi is also mystically present as a manifestation of the strange loop of infinite rebirth, as stated in the Rig Veda that Daksha sprang forth from Aditi, and Aditi sprang forth from Daksha.
