Aerobics Drop-in Adult Athletics Stretching Workshop
A 40 minute workshop focusing on the oft-neglected stretching & flexibility aspect of fitness. Improve your posture, boost your recovery, prevent injury and enhance your performance!

EXERCISE COURSES
20/20/20
Looking for something with a bit of variety? 20/20/20 is a new and exciting class that allows you to sample a little bit of everything. 3 x 20 minute sections of different classes from our timetable.

LES MILLS CLASSES

These progressive, specialised courses need to be booked in advanced. They are not included as part of an ASV Membership (apart from the Jogging Groups), although peak Health & Fitness and Exercise Class Members are entitled to discounts on the course fee. Studio Cycling / Blast / Plus

A traditional class, not to be missed. This multi-impact, choreographed workout of user friendly moves will challenge your body to another level.

Bleep Test

This multi-stage fitness test is used to estimate a persons VO2 max (maximum oxygen uptake). The test is a particularly good indicator of fitness for players of sports such as football, hockey, rugby and tennis.

Fancy something completely different? Join us in the awesome indoor athletics area for this fun, challenging session with our highly experienced coaching team. Whether you are a complete beginner, or a returning athlete, youll be most welcome!

Cycle your way to improved aerobic fitness, and toned muscles throughout the lower body. Classes include a moderately demanding 45 minutes, a high energy 60 minutes, a Plus class with added abdominal conditioning and half hour Blasts!

ZUMBA FITNESS

Party yourself into shape with the Latininspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning, dance fitness party. Feel the music and let loose!

BODYCOMBAT BODYCOMBAT is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercly energetic programme is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, tae kwon do, tai chi and Muay Thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors, strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.

A 30 minute focus on the abdominals, introducing effective exercises to give you maximum core stability.

Zumba Toning

5 week courses Realistic Pilates encourages the individual to develop a healthy selfimage, through the development of better posture, proper co-ordination, breathing and improved flexibility. Pilates for the ante-natal woman will help to strengthen your abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles which will help to support a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery. The exercises can be adapted to suit your needs as your body changes.

5 or 8 week courses This mind-body workout out will develop your strength, flexibility and endurance while challenging your core. The combination of controlled breathing and co-ordinated movements will improve your posture and muscle tone, and re-engage you with muscles you had long since forgotten! Choose from: Pilates (if you are new to Pilates) Pilates Progression (if you have done Pilates before)

Everyone is welcome at this new drop-in yoga class for all ages and abilities - a traditional, enjoyable style which incorporates stress release, coordination and balance technique.

Blends body-sculpting techniques with Zumba moves, using lightly-weighted maraca-like Zumba toning sticks to spice up your workout!

Jogging Groups

Punch your way to a perfect physique. This knock-out session combines boxing movements and circuit exercises for a great workout and stress-buster. Youll be hooked for sure!

Gliding Blast

BLT / BLT Blast

A pure conditioning class with effective exercises which target the Bums, Legs and Tums. Choose from our 40 minute workout, or 30 minute blast class.

A whole-body, 30 minute conditioning blast. Using the gliding disks will allow more extended body movements and encourage smoother transitions between traditional conditioning exercises... but will challenge you further by encouraging greater stability and control.

TRX CLASSES
TRX is an innovative suspension training system, using exercises that can easily be tailored to your ability and providing a whole-body workout. TRX gives participants an edge over conventional strength training by building true functional strength and by improving flexibility, balance and core stability. New to TRX training? please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of your first class for an initial familiarisation session. Choose from: Learn-to-TRX; TRXpress; TRX: Core; TRX Fitness & TRXtreme (Beware! TRXtreme is only for experienced TRX users if youre not sure, please speak to a Fitness Consultant before attending)

6 week courses These Jogging Groups provide the ideal environment to support and encourage you to achieve your running goals. Following progressive, proven walkjog-walk intervals, the jog instructor will guide you along the way. Challenge yourself for 2013! we can help you reach your target distance or time at one of the popular spring fun runs.

4 week courses A Chinese Martial Art that utilises the body in a moving meditation with the mind focussed on inner and outer aspects of the movements. Practice helps combat stress, improve balance, flexibility and ultimately results in increased health and longevity. These sessions introduce participants to Wudang Style Tai Chi Chuan (Yin Yang Fist).

Yoga General Level

Our popular Evergreens classes are for the over 60s, or individuals beginning exercise for the first time or returning following injury. We offer Gentle Exercise to Music; Fitness Pilates; Aqua Fun; Swimming; Table Tennis & Zumba Gold.

Sports Conditioning

Choose from: 0-to-5k (suitable for complete jogging novices, who can only run for very short intervals) 5-to-10k (for individuals who can already jog for a steady 30 minutes)

4 week courses Come along to this traditional style yoga class, aimed at maximising each individuals physical capabilities, with lots of fun! Incorporates stress release, co-ordination, balance techniques and partner work.

Circuits

Join us for a traditional circuit but with plenty of new exercises, giving a balanced whole body workout with both CV and resistance exercises. Suitable for all levels to enable you to challenge yourself each week to work to your optimum!

The ultimate athletic workout! A unique class with serious results! This high intensity workout for athletes and games players will undoubtedly improve your performance. It will hurt... but its worth it!

SPECIALIST, REFERRAL-ONLY CLASSES

The following classes are by referral only, from your health professional: Cardiac Rehab British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) Accredited Phase IV cardiac rehabilitation class for long-term management of individuals with heart disease. Otago (Strength & Balance) This unique strength and balance programme was devised from extensive research at Otago University, New Zealand, and has been very successful in building confidence and reducing falls in the older adult. Well-being Circuit A feel-good circuit class for 40-64 year olds.
