Young Driver Learner Logbook (class C learner licence)

If you are required to comply with the young driver learner logbook requirement, you must lodge your logbook with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (the department) for assessment prior to your practical driving test. If your logbook is incomplete or fails the assessment, you will not be eligible to take the test. It is recommended that you lodge your logbook with the department at least 14 days prior to your practical driving test. The department will notify you when your logbook has been assessed and passed. Further information about how to lodge your logbook can be found in the logbook or visit the departments website www.tmr.qld.gov.au.

Test appointment checklist

You are reminded that it is an offence to drive unaccompanied on a learner licence. If you will be driving a vehicle to the testing centre, you must be accompanied at that time by a person who holds and has held an open licence for the class of vehicle for at least one year.

Your arrival time at the testing centre


You must arrive at your appointment time 10 minutes prior to your driving test time at the Centre named above.

What to bring with you


Your current Queensland learner licence or any other driver licence held by you that allows you to drive the test vehicle This Driving Test Appointment Sheet with the Accredited driver trainer's details' (if applicable) and the Registered operator's authorisation for the Driving Examiner to drive the test vehicle and release and indemnity sections fully completed. The registered operator of the test vehicle must authorise the Driving Examiner to drive the vehicle, if required. (Note in most cases the registered operator will be the owner of the vehicle) L plates. (For vehicles - one L plate must be at the front and one L plate at the rear. For motorbikes - one L plate at the rear of the motorbike or the rider may wear a vest displaying an L sign). You are responsible for providing the vehicle for the test Completed Driver Licence Application/Renewal form (F3000) with supporting evidence of identity documentation as stated on the application Coloured P plates (as required), but only if you wish to drive your vehicle after passing the practical driving test. (Note: High

powered vehicle restrictions apply to some provisional licence holders under the age of 25 years).

Registered operators authorisation for the Driving Examiner to drive the test vehicle and release and indemnity (please PRINT)

I authorise any Driving Examiner employed by the department or the Queensland Police Service, to drive my motor vehicle during or in connection with any driving test undertaken in my vehicle, if required. The test vehicle


The test vehicle must meet the following minimum vehicle standards: be currently registered and be in a legal roadworthy condition have seat belts fitted in accordance with Australian Design Rules

if the vehicle is a convertible, have the roof up if the vehicle has a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) over 12 tonnes, it must carry three portable triangular red reflectorised for class LR, MR or HR truck tests, the test vehicle must be a rigid truck. A bobtail prime mover is not acceptable for class LR bus test, the test vehicle must be more than 4.5 tonne GVM but not more than 8 tonne GVM. A bus of

Note: Motor cars manufactured prior to 1969, trucks manufactured prior to 1977 and certain omnibuses, which have not been modified in any way, are not required to have seat belts fitted.

4.5 tonne GVM or less that is built or fitted to carry more than 12 adults (including the driver) is not acceptable for the test.

It is recommended that all applicants being tested for a motorbike licence ensure that they are wearing suitable protective clothing. If the construction of the test vehicle has been altered from the manufacturers specifications, you or the registered operator will need to produce suitable evidence that these modifications have been approved. If the test vehicle is a dangerous goods vehicle, such as a petrol tanker, you or the registered operator, must have a certificate issued stating that its tanks have been emptied and flushed for this driving test.
