Cherry Creek Arts Festival On-Site Social Media Team

Description of Volunteer Role The Cherry Creek Arts Festival & Blake Communications seek a team of volunteers to assist in on-site social media efforts during the 2013 Arts Festival to take place July 5, 6 & 7. Team members will be walking through the site of the Festival updating Facebook and Twitter with messages, videos, news, photographs and information live from the event. In addition to attendance on site during all three days of the Festival, the team members will go through a series of 2-3 meetings that will include training for on-site social media use and posting. Meeting dates will be determined based on selected team members availability. Team members also will be asked to attend additional Arts Festival events in the week leading up to the Festival. This is a great opportunity for students interested in seeking social media and special events experience. All volunteers will receive meals during any/all shifts, a different t-shirt for every day you volunteer and an Arts Festival hat. Volunteer Qualifications All applicants must meet the following qualifications. - Superb writing and editing skills. - A professional attitude and approach to all work and people. - Knowledge of and experience in social media. - Outgoing personality and strong interview skills. - Creativity in delivering messages to audiences through non-traditional channels. - Pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in communications, public relations, marketing or some related degree. - Video production and photography skills are a plus. We are seeking at least 1-2 volunteers who have experience in these areas. - Interest in social media, creative industry, special events, nonprofits and media relations. About the Cherry Creek Arts Festival The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is a three-day, world-class and award-winning celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts and enjoys an annual attendance of 350,000 visitors. Special exhibits, art and culinary demonstrations, and interactive family activities on Artivity Avenue complement the festival experience. The 2012 event will take place on July 6, 7 and 8.
