20.2.2 EHS-BD-SPE

Specification Management

20.2.2.1 Locking Concept in the Workbench (Enhanced)

Use

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 5

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can make settings in the workbench that require users to save when they have changed an object and want to open another object. The system removes the locks on all previously opened objects each time you save, so this helps you reduce the number of locked objects. Effects on Customizing You make these settings in Customizing for the Workbench under Set Up Workbench. See also For more information about the locking concept, see SAP Library for the Environment, Health and Safety or Recipe Management components under Locking of Objects in the Workbench.

20.2.2.2 Menu Exits (Changed)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can use all four existing menu exits in specification management both in display mode and in change mode. Effects on Existing Data If you set up your own menu exits in earlier releases, these are now available to you in display mode and change mode. If you want a menu exit to be available in display mode only or change mode only, you must control this using the parameters in the user exit. Effects on Customizing You define the menu exits in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools in the following IMG activities: See also For more information about the user exits, see the above IMG activities and the documentation for the relevant SAP enhancement. Develop Enhancement for Menu Exit 1 Develop Enhancement for Menu Exit 2 Develop Enhancement for Menu Exit 3 Develop Enhancement for Menu Exit 4

20.2.2.3 Search for Specifications (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the search for specifications of the specification categories Substance and Agent is linked to the SAP search engine TREX. This makes it easier to search for substances and agents. For more information about searching with TREX, see Connection of Objects to a Search Engine (New).

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 6

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

Effects on System Administration In the transaction COM_SE_ADMIN, you can display a list of the existing object indexes, that is, you can see the objects for which the search engine service was already activated. If you want to use the search for substances and agents, entries for the following objects must exist: Business Object BUS1077 BUS1077 Effects on Customizing You make the settings in Customizing under SAP NetWeaver -> SAP Web Application Server -> System Administration -> Search Engine Service. See also For more information about searching for specifications, see SAP Library for the Basic Data and Tools component under Specification Search. Object Type 1 2 Description Specification / Substance Specification / Agent

20.2.3 EHS-BD-RDF

Report Definition

20.2.3.1 Conditional Output (New)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), when editing document templates you can define conditions that must be fulfilled before a specific text section can be output. You define this conditional output around the section of text that is to be output if the conditions are fulfilled. The section can contain any type of object, such as Microsoft Word texts, graphics, symbols, and phrases. As a condition, you can specify, for example, that the value in a symbol must be equal to a comparison value or equal to a value in another symbol. Conditional output makes it easier to edit document templates because you now no longer have to develop your own processing method for symbols whose content must only be output in certain cases. Effects on Existing Data You can still continue to define and use your own processing methods.

20.2.3.2 Including Document Templates (New)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can include other document templates in a document template. This allows you, for example, to subdivide complex templates into individual templates and thus make them easier to handle. In addition, for sections that are identical in

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 7

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

several templates, you can create them in a separate template and include it in all relevant templates. This makes editing and managing document templates easier. In the hit list for document templates, a where-used list is available. You can use this to find out which document templates include the templates you selected in the hit list.

20.2.3.3 Status Network and Release of Document Templates (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the following new statuses are available for document templates: For Checking If you change a template or cancel the release, this can also affect the templates in which the template is included. To inform you that the affected templates need to be checked again, the system makes the following status changes: If you change a template that is included in a template with the status In Work, the template that contains the changed template is given the status For Checking. If you cancel the release of a template that is included in a template with the status In Work or Released, the latter is given the status For Checking.

Historical When you assign the status Historical to a template or a version of a template, you can indicate that the template or version is no longer in use without having to delete the template or version.

When you release document templates, you can decide whether all previous versions of the template to be released are set to historical automatically.

20.3 EHS-SAF
20.3.1 EHS-SAF-REP

Product Safety
Report Management

20.3.1.1 Creating EH&S Reports (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can create EH&S reports simultaneously in several languages from the hit list in specification management. In addition to the function for creating reports in one language, the following new functions are now available: See also You can create a report in all languages defined in the generation variant. You can choose the languages in which the system is to create a report.

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 8

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

For more information about how you create a report from the hit list, see SAP Library for the Product Safety component under Creating Report Requests Manually.

20.4 EHS-HSM

Hazardous Substance Management

20.4.1 Hazardous Substance Master (New)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the hazardous substance master is available. It contains hazardous substance data that you can transfer (using filling) from specification management. You can distribute data from the hazardous substance master in the ERP system to Supply Chain Management systems (SCM systems) that do not contain specification management. The following scenarios are available: You can enter hazardous substance data in specification management in a central ERP system, fill the hazardous substance master with this data, and then distribute the hazardous substance data to local SCM systems. You can enter hazardous substance master data directly in an SCM system in the hazardous substance master or add to the distributed data there.

You can use the hazardous substance master data in the SCM systems in Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), for example, for hazardous substance checks. Note: The hazardous substance master is independent of the existing hazardous material management function in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Effects on Customizing You make the settings for the hazardous substance master in Customizing for Hazardous Substance Management under Hazardous Substance Master. See also For more information, see SAP Library for the Hazardous Substance Management component under Hazardous Substance Master.

20.5 EHS-DGP

Dangerous Goods Management

20.5.1 Dangerous Goods Basic Data and Master Data (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the data model for the dangerous

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 9

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

goods basic data and dangerous goods master data is enhanced: The following additional tab pages are available in the dangerous goods master: Classes 1 and 7 Packing Requirements The old database table DGTPK is still supported, but no data migration to the new packaging tables is offered. Transport Approval Provisions for Carriage

Product Release You select the tab pages that are relevant for you in the IMG activity Specify Tab Pages in Dangerous Goods Master. The function groups DG03 and DG03N no longer exist. You should therefore adjust your Customizing to match the standard system. In the IMG activity Specify Relevant Dangerous Goods Master Tables, you can specify which dangerous goods master tables are read for the dangerous goods checks and dangerous goods documents. This enables you to improve performance. For the dangerous goods basic data, the following tab pages are available in the specification database for UN-listed substances: Packing Requirements Transport Regulations

For dangerous goods classification, there are the new indicators Prohibited and Unlimited. To migrate your existing entries in the Limited Quantity field (0.01 or 9999) to the new fields, you can use the conversion program RCBUI_CONV_EST0D. If you use the Prohibited and Unlimited indicators, you must adapt your dangerous goods checks for ADR, Chapter 1.1.3.6. The material number field was extended from 18 to 40 characters. So that both the material in ERP systems and the internal key for products (GUID) in SCM systems can be stored in the dangerous goods master table, the existing MATNR field has been extended to 40 characters and decoupled. The function modules for writing and reading dangerous goods data have been adapted so that they take on the task of mapping between the 40-character database field and the standard MATNR in ERP systems. Both the external ERP interfaces (dangerous goods business object) and the internal interfaces to logistics or the material master still work with the 18-character material number and are not affected by the changes. Check the following points and make the described changes if necessary. a) You have enhanced the database table DGTMD by adding your own fields: If you have defined append fields for the table DGTMD, you must make these available in the new structure RDGMD. To do this, you can either define a new additional append in the structure RDGMD (variant 1) or convert the existing append for the table DGTMD to an append for the structure RDGMDAPPDATA (variant 2). The structure RDGMDAPPDATA is already part of the new structure RDGMD. Variant 1: Create an include structure for the table DGTMD that has exactly the same fields as your append structure. Define a new append structure for the structure RDGMD.

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 10

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

Transfer exactly the same fields (name and data type) from your existing append structure for the table DGTMD to the new structure. Variant 2: Create an include structure for the table DGTMD that has exactly the same fields as your append structure. Define a new append structure for the structure RDGMDAPPDATA. Transfer exactly the same fields (name and data type) from your existing append structure for the table DGTMD to the new structure. b) You have enhanced the method DG_MASTER_SELECT of the Business Add-In EHS_DG_MASTER_001 by adding your own code: Refer to the adjustments to the default code for reading and writing to the database. You have your own custom developments in which local variables of the type dgtmd-matnr have been defined and you want to use them to call function modules in Logistics or Materials Management: Do not use the data type of the field DGTMD-MATNR but rather the data type of the field MARA-MATNR, which is then compatible with the interface parameter MATNR of the function module MARA_SINGLE_READ.

c)

You can assign multiple packing requirements to each data record for packaging data in an n:1 relationship. In template and one-time material processing, fields that you specified in the IMG activity Specify Fields for Template and One-Time Material Processing as not ready for input are also no longer displayed on the screen. This makes the screen clearer. The dangerous goods checks are integrated in Bulk Transport in the SAP for Oil & Gas solution.

20.5.2 Dangerous Goods Classes 1 and 7 (Enhanced)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the following additional fields are available in the dangerous goods basic data and dangerous goods master data for processing dangerous goods belonging to classes 1 and 7, that is, for processing dangerous goods that are explosive or radioactive: Air transport safety code Electromagnetic compatibility Parachute drop code Thrust code

SAP AG 11

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

Ammunition interchangeability code EX-number Identification mark for approval certificate

20.5.3 EHS-DGP-CHK

Dangerous Goods Checks

20.5.3.1 Product Release (New)

Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the Product Release process is available. You start this process in the SAP menu under Logistics -> Environment, Health and Safety -> Dangerous Goods Management -> Dangerous Goods Product Release. In product release, you set products, that is, packed dangerous goods, as released at the product definition stage, depending on the relevant regulations. At a later stage in the logistics processing chain, this indicator is simply queried by the check module DG63_CHECK_DG_RELEASE, which makes this a very high-performance check. Product release gives you the following advantages: You can select packagings for materials that are subject to dangerous goods regulations on the basis of packing instructions for UN-listed substances. You can select relevant dangerous goods regulations that allow the packaging. You can save the actual packaging data in the dangerous goods master with additional information, such as packing instructions, description of packaging, and so on. You can run dangerous goods checks based on the Product Release indicator in sales, shipping, and shipment.

The data for product release is available in the dangerous goods master on the Product Release tab page. The role of packaging developer SAP_WP_DG_PACKAGING_DEVELOPER exists for product release.

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG 13

SAP-System ______________________________________________________________

The system displays the data for the waste life-cycle analysis using SAP List Viewer grid control (ALV grid control). This means you can adapt the display of the data to better suit your requirements. You can define your own function modules in Customizing to determine and check the data for the waste life-cycle analysis. This makes it easier for you to adapt the waste life-cycle analysis to the requirements of your company and to comply with the law. The following sample function modules are supplied with the standard system: EHSWA_801_WASTEBAL_STD_BUILD: Example for Determination of Waste Life-Cycle Analysis Data EHSWA_801_WASTEBAL_STD_CHECK: Example for Check of Waste Life-Cycle Analysis Data

You can display all messages that occurred during the creation of the waste life-cycle analysis in an error log.

Effects on Existing Data If you want to use the waste life-cycle analysis as before, carry out the following steps: Make sure that the standard function modules are specified in Customizing for your productive client. Transfer the default layouts 0BALANCE_SUM and 0BALANCE_DOC to your productive client for display via the ALV grid control, or create your own layouts and specify these at one of the following places: On the selection screen for the waste life-cycle analysis In the user parameters ALV_LAYOUT_BAL_SUM and ALV_LAYOUT_BAL_DOC

Effects on Customizing You specify the function modules for data determination and checking for the waste life-cycle analysis in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Environment Parameters in the following environment parameters: See also For more information, see SAP Library for the Waste Management component under Creation of Waste Life-Cycle Analyses. WAM_FUNC_BAL_BUILD: Determination of Disposal Document Data for Waste Life-Cycle Analysis WAM_FUNC_BAL_CHECK: Check of Disposal Document Data for Waste Life-Cycle Analysis
