Request for data to inform TVET Track Policy making TVET Institution have the opportunity to increase their

intake in 2016 by providing the Grades 11&12 TVET track. DepEd predicts that of the total Senior High School enrollees, over 500,000 students will opt for the TVET track in 2016. Increasing to over 850,000 in 2017. The Government is looking to private sector providers to help accommodate these students. To enable equal access and incentivize private sector providers, the GASTPE will be extended to Grades 11&12; whatever form this funding takes (still to be determined) it will allow for students to top up tuition fees allowing them to attend the institution and/or programme of their choice. With the K-to Reform, Grades 11 & 12 will become part of basic education, delivered by DepEd. The curriculum is composed of a core curriculum (compulsory) and a track option; either academic, TVET or sports and arts. The TVET curricula is not yet finalized by TESDA will remain the regulator and quality assurance body and all provision will align directly to current standards and certifications. The expectation is that students graduating from the TVET track will have completed a NCII. Due to the compulsory core curricula, you will have to decide as a provider whether you: 1. Extend your services to provide these core subjects or 2. Partner with another institution such as a Junior High School or a HEI who are extending their own provision for SHS but lack the TVET facilities. As TVET institutions you have the opportunity both to benefit form the k-12 Report in 2016 and to help shape the supporting policies now. Please complete the short questionnaire below.
