    ENGL 106: Writing and Pop Culture Assignment: Movie Review (50 points)

    Watch a movie that is currently in the theaters or has come out on DVD sometime this year (i.e. 2012-2013)*. Your movie review should be written for our campus newspaper, The Exponent, so it should be suitable for The Exponents audience as we discussed in class. Your review is due Friday, February 1st in class. It should be 400-600 words, double-spaced, in a standard 12 point font. Please refer to the Movie Review Writing PowerPoint on Blackboard for additional (and important) tips on review writing. The following are the most basic things to include and consider: Required information: director, stars, release date (optional info: running time MPAA rating, producers, etc.) The required info must appear either within the body of your review, or in a blurb preceding or following your review. A plot summary that gives readers enough info to read your review and understand it without spoiling the movie. An actual reviewyou have to judge the movie and explain/support your reasoning for your review.

    Final note: If you are interested in reviewing another form of media (book, album, tv show, etc.) please discuss it with me ASAP. *If you would really like to review a movie older than this, Im okay with that, just make sure to let me know before turning it in that this is your intention.
