Effect of alcohol and temperature on CSM

Precautions Beetroot cylinders should be of the same area so that they have same surface area and same amount of pigment. Cylinders should be left in the test tubes for equal time (ex 5 mins). Volume of water in boiling tubes should be same. Same or same species of beetroot used to make cylinders. Beetroots should have been kept under same storage conditions prior to the experiment. Same part of the beetroot (ex middle) should be used to make the cylinders. Method After taking out the beetroot cylinder, shake the test tube. Select a complementary filter (blue, as pigment is red). Zero the colorimeter reading against the control. Plot the transmission readings against concentration or temperature.
