EWINDO 10 may1974 Based on the Indonesian goverment's policy to strengthen the manufacturing sector as an industry of import subtituon goods,

from the early 1970s joint venture companies have been stablished one after another in all sector of bussiness. In 1974, with the purpose of supplying copper wires to existing transformer factories or electric wires factories, a plant for manufacture of magnet and drawn wire was stablished with a capital of US$ 900,000 and this factory was started with limited facilities and with abut ten workers. This was the bir th of PT EWINDO. At the time experts were invited from Japan, and under their guidance production techniques were scured while simultaneously trainees were sent to Japan to learn the latest technology. By the and of the 1970's the production and sales activities of the company had reached its peak and a stable business progress was continuing. However, for purpose of opening the road for the supply of product not only to meet the local demand but also to supply to the large export market, the provision of various types of quality specifications was i,n demand. In order to scure the confidence of customers as regards product quality, endless efforts were made to acquire a good quality control method. In1983, in magnet wire production sector, ahead of other companies the company became number one and was designated as a JIS standard factory by the ministry of Trade and industry of japan, wich recognition made it possible for the company to expand its activities to japanese existing locally and to export to Japan. Since then, due to the expansion the local automotive and motorcycle industries, the demand for automotive electric wire had shown subtantial increase. However,since there is a limit of growth to a business only magnet wires and drawn wires, therefor with the objective of starting the manufacture of electric wire, 1987 the company's authorized capital was increased to US$ 1,350,000 and a electric wire manufacturing plant was established, and production of various types of vinyl covered wires was started. Production of electronic wire for domestic private TV manufactures was also started at same time. Later on, on line with the expansion and progress of japanese home electic appliance makers and other foreign manufactures and the daily increasing demand for electronic wires, resulted in increasing quality control standars being applied by the company. In 1991, the company succeeded in securing the UL/CSA safety standard award, and there after direct and indirect exports to the North American regions were made possible. In order to scure the confidence of not only local but also foreign customers, the company had made numerous effort to acquire international quallity controll methods and had succeeded in meeting such local and foreign quality standards. Entering the 1990s, the earlier demand by foreign companies did not stop at the supply of wires only and since there also was a trend of demand for the supply of products in the form of parts ready assembly, therefore in cooperation with some related companies in 1994 was the production of wire harness stablished and a decision was made for company to expand into field processed electric wire by using the existing electric wire production techniques and company, authorized capital was increased to US$ 5,000,000. Aiming not only a higher quality, quality assurance and service in the manufacturing sectot, a challenging decision was made in the introduction of an organization system covering the entire company and in 1995 the company succeeded in being recognized to receive the ISO-9002 designation. Further a system was introduced to meet the required enviroment standard, to control the safety and health of workers and in February 1999 in the sector of SMK-3, a GOLD MEDAL was awarded to the company by local ministry of manpower, and the company's control system was approved.

By conducting the various improvements in the sectors of customers satisfaction, the return of invesment to shareholders the increase of workers welfare, end mutual existence for regional community, we are working toward the making of a company that would be widely welcomed by everyone, and will continue to undertake improvement efforts everyday.
