Internship Proposal 1. Brief Introduction Of The Topic/Study---1.1 Topic: Overall banking system & how HR is being practiced in NCC Bank Ltd. 1.2 Background of the Bank: National Credit & Commerce Bank Ltd was incorporated in Bangladesh as banking company under the Companies Act 1994. The Bank commenced its banking business with sixteen branches from 17 may, 1993. The Bank is listed with Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited and Chittagong Stock Exchange limited as a public quoted company for its shares. Paid up capital of the company was Tk.5.00 core only at that time. National Credit Ltd. (NCL) performed well for near about 7 years. The core objective of the company was to play a catalyst role in the capital market of the country by way of participating in security trading, underwriting, etc. Subsequently NCL converted into a full edge commercial Bank on 17.05.1993 after obtaining license from Bangladesh Bank under the name & style National Credit & Commerce Bank Ltd. The authorized capital of the bank was xed at Tk. 75.00 crore and paid up capital at Tk.39.00 crore of which 19.50 crore was subscribed by the sponsors at that time. The principal place of business is the registered oce at 7-8 Motijheel Commercial Area, Dhaka 1000. It has 65 branches as over Bangladesh. It carries out all banking activities through its branches in Bangladesh. 1. 3 Rational Of The Study: I am proposing this study because HR is necessary for all the organization to run in a more ecient way. This study helps the organization to manage its human resource in a more proper way, which is very essential for an organization to make prot. This topic has full relevance with my major subject as my major is HRM and I also can implement in a more professional way in future wherever I will start my job career. It will help the business student to know about what is going on in the real eld of job and how the bank sector is implementing the HR in the bank sector.

2. Statement Of The Problems: NCCBL is a well established bank and has been running since 1993 and they have a great mission to mobilize nancial resources from within and abroad to

contribute Agricultures, Industry & Socio-economic development of the country and to play a catalytic role in the formation of capital market. They have been running their business successfully but to be more ecient, eective HR is very necessary to run the business more successfully and without HR it is tough to get better result from the employees, who are the main source to do better result. Because HR includes recruiting employees who will be serving for the organization, evaluate performance of the employees to check who is doing well; train the employees for the better future and all these things are included by the HR. So HR activities have to be very strong to get the better performance from the employees, who are the key to make success the organization as a whole. 3. Scope And Delimitation Of The Study: This study can have many limitations e.g. The management doesnt allow providing all kinds of information because this might get them in some problem. The banks employees were very busy in banking hours. So it was very dicult to get them in time. I have started my internship in a very busy time and the Eidul Ajha is just knocking the door, so its really tough to get their available time. The time is really very short to make a comprehensive report and I am working in the foreign exchange branch where is the HR is in another place.

4. Objective: This study has a combination of broad and specic objectives which are given bellow--4.1. Broad Objective: To gather knowledge how overall banking works and how the HR activities are being practiced in overall banking system 4.2. Specic Objectives: To know the organizational framework of the bank. To know the work environment and organizational behaviors of the Bank. To nd out how the general banking system works. To nd out what is the recruitment process of NCC Bank Ltd. To nd out what is the training and development process of NCC Bank Ltd. To nd out how they evaluate their employees performance How they motivate their employees

The report is a combination of primary and secondary data analysis along with nancial analysis and HR activities. To accomplish the report both primary and secondary data are necessary. Primary data will be collected though meetings, surveys, Questionnaire and secondary data are collected through annual reports, books, articles, journals, brochures, website etc. 5.1 Primary data The primary data of this report are: Direct interviews with the ocers of the bank. Practical experiences gained during performing duties in dierent desks and departments. Questionnaire 5.2 Secondary data Secondary data is collected from the following sources: Annual reports of NCCBL. Printed forms and documents supplied by NCCBL. Brochure of international division of NCCBL. Dierent publications and journals regarding banking activities and policies. Auditors reports of NCCBL. Website of NCCBL (www.nccbank.com.bd)
