The equipment has characteristics as follows: The microprocessor combines 32 bits DSP with MCU. High performance hardware systems ensure the parallel real-time calculation in all components of the equipment. Protective functions, man-machine interface and also communications functions are completely separated in equipment. This improves the reliability and makes debugging installation, maintenance and use easier. Internal modules are intelligent designed so that a comprehensive real-time self-inspection can be performed. Double A/D sampling in analog circuit Acquisition, performing real time self-testing for each other. New checking methods used for the relay detection can detect coil performance in energized circuit of the relay, so detection and abnormal alarm for the relay have been achieved. The equipment can be conveniently and comprehensively tested in the field. Fault wave recorder with large capacity, memory up to 4MB, can record full process of any fault, depending on the settings chosen minimum no. of DR records would be 5. Optional data format or wave format is provided when the records need to be printed, and also fault wave recorder can be exported to serial port or Ethernet port by COMTRADE format. Event recorder can store operating reports, alarm reports, start reports and general operation records; every kind of record is not less than 1000 events with the event resolution of 1msec, and events are memorized when power is OFF.

Operating Principle: The measurement method is based on Kirchoffs current law. This law states that, the vectorial sum of all currents flowing into a closed loop is equal to zero. This law is applicable in the first instance, to DC current & to AC current for instantaneous values. Thus, the sum of the currents in all feeders of a busbar must be zero at any instant in time.

CT Saturation: When the fault happens near but external to the busbar, the through current is very severe. It will lead the current transformer used by the busbar protection CSC-150 to be saturated and then the differential currents of the check zone and the bus-section selective zone increase. All these will result in the busbar protection mal operation if no measure is taken.

CSC 150 Busbar Protection IED

Technical Data Sheet

CSC-150 IED provides a sensitive element to detect the current transformer saturation according to the waveform characteristics of the differential current and the restraining current. It can distinguish the current transformer saturation in external fault from the internal fault easily and accurately.

In the event of external fault of the busbar, it can lead the differential current to increase if the current transformer is saturated. But even though the current transformer saturation is very severe, the secondary current can be transformed accurately and linearly when the current is near zero or on the initial stage for the fault happening. At that time, the differential current is zero. But passing through that time, the differential current increases. The CSC-150 takes use of this characteristic to detect the current transformer saturation. The measuring method of the current saturation comprises the following formula, id=|id, t - id, (t-T)| > I_Diff if =|if, t - if, (t-T)| > I_Diff (id/if) < 0.2 Analysis Software CSPC View:
