On 12th January 1896 for the First Time

115 years ago, Oben Hardin, Pender Porter and

Osmond Barringer, Students of Dr. Henry Louis Smith, Davidson College U.S, used X-Ray for the first time. Small objects like pins, wearing rings, a rubber covering magnifying glass, a pill box containing two 22 cartridges etc. were used by them. They spent three hours exposing the objects to the X-ray, producing the image seen above. This is the first X-ray Image ever taken.

On 12th January 1908 for the First Time

Long distance wireless radio message was sent from Eiffel tower, Paris. Lee de Forest, a French engineer and scientist who wanted to pioneer wireless telephony, broadcasted a phonograph record show on for an audience of less than 50 people; The show was heard over 500 miles from the tower. This occasion is marked as the first ever experience of long-distance radio message transmission.

On 12th January 1948 for the first time

Shree Mahatma Gandhi started a new fast on Jan. 12, 1948, Declaring that he would continue until greater unity between Hindu, Sikh and Muslim communities was achieved. This fast was ended after five days, when Hindus and Moslems in Delhi agreed to live in Peace. It was his Last Fast but first against differences between the castes and religions which ended successfully.
