PLANAPALOOZA INPUT OPPORTUNITIES

All Events, Meetings, Presentations and Open Studio times are open to the public!

Opening Presentation
On the first evening of the Planapalooza, TPUDC will deliver an introductory presentation to provide a common language and general understanding of specific topics relevant to the community such as urban design, Comprehensive Planning, sustainability, innovative planning and economic development tools to outline the process moving forward. This portion of the meeting will also provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions. Comment cards will be available at the meeting as well as an option for those who may be uncomfortable speaking in front of a large group.

Q & A Conversation
Following the presentation, TPUDC will have a conversation with the community, asking the participants for input and answering any questions they may have about the project, process or topics covered in the presentation.

Hands-On Citizen Workshop

Following the Opening Presentation and Q&A Conversation, the Team will facilitate an interactive Hands-On Workshop where the public will be invited to graphically contribute their ideas. We will break up into small groups around a table with a facilitator at each table. Participants will work with markers and stickers over base maps of the study area to identify how they might like to see the study area evolve in the future what areas should stay the same; what areas of their community they like and dont like; and any other concerns or ideas they may have relating to the study area. Each table will select five big ideas to present back to the rest of the community. Once all groups have presented, TPUDC will once again open the floor for a Q & A Conversation to address any new questions that arise as a result of the table exercise or any questions that didnt get asked during the first Q & A session of the night.

Technical Round Table Meetings

During the first couple days of the Planapalooza, topical meetings will be held. These meetings tend to be more technical in nature and topics will be based on project related critical issues. Everyone interested in the topics listed for each meeting is welcome to participate.

Open Studio
Throughout the entire Planapalooza, the TPUDC Team and participating City Staff will set up in a space centrally located within the study area. The Studio will function as an office, meeting room, and gallery that will be open to the public from morning through night. Because community members who would like to participate in the Planapalooza differ in their times of availability, the Open Studio ensures that everyone can find a time to engage in the process and contribute their ideas even if they cant make it to a presentation or meeting with a designated time. Map tables will be set up in the Studio so drop-in participants can do the same map exercise as at the Hands-On Workshop and Team members will be available to talk to people who stop by.

Mid-Point Check In & Community Feedback

Based on all the input gathered during the Citizen Kick-Off Meeting, the Hands-On Design Workshop, Technical Meetings, and Drop-In Visits, the TPUDC Team will generate plans and imagery related to the Comprehensive Plan to graphically depict what we have heard from the community. Mid-way through the Planapalooza, the Team will conduct a Mid-Point Check In & Community Feedback Session to present these ideas and gather feedback from the public. This is an important meeting for checking in with the community to make sure the vision is on the right track. Based on feedback, final plans will be prepared during the remaining days of the Planapalooza, as well as refinements to the Elements of the Comprehensive Plan.

Closing Presentation
On the final evening of the Planapalooza, TPUDC will give a presentation that describes the process to date, explains the elements of the plans and ideas, and presents other findings and products developed during the Planapalooza. Following this presentation, TPUDC will again open the floor for an additional Q & A Conversation. This is another opportunity for the public to provide feedback and shape the vision of the Comprehensive Plan.
