The final letter grade cutoff points will be determined by the instructor at the end of the course. EXAMS Three midterm exams will contribute 25 percent each toward the final course grade. Midterm exams will consist of approximately 80 multiple-choice and T/F items drawn from material in the assigned readings but with an emphasis on materials drawn from class discussions. A Final Exam will be administered during the scheduled exam period during Finals Week. It is comprehensive of the material for the semester and will also consist of approximately 100 multiple-choice items. Scores on three exams will be used to determine the course grade. If a class member takes the final exam and scores higher than the lowest of the three midterm exam scores, the final exam score will replace the lowest exam score in calculating the course grade. If the final exam grade is lower than any of the midterm exam grades, it will not effect on the course grade (the grade for the class will be determined by the three midterm exam scores). If a class member has scores for all three mid-term grades and wants to use those scores to calculate their course grade they are excused from the final exam. LEARN SMART Our class text comes with an on-line learning support system. This system is used to support and diagnose student learning for the content in each of the textbooks 16 chapters. For each chapter, students are responsible for working through the deck of questions related to the course content and answering them correctly. For each chapters material, you will receive immediate feedback on (a) percent completed and (b) a performance score. Course grades will be determined based on the percent of each question deck completed correctly by the due date for each chapter that is listed in the course schedule If a chapter unit was not fully completed by the due date, half credit can still be awarded for the remaining portions of the question deck if it is completed by the Last day to complete Learn Smart assignments for half credit date listed on the Course Schedule. 2

SUPPLEMENTAL ACTIVITIES / QUIZZES Throughout the semester class participants will be given the opportunity to participate in management research and other exercises to earn points. More activities will be offered during the semester than will be needed to accumulate the maximum points (that is, you will not need to participate in every activity). Some activities (which may include quizzes) will be completed during class time. If you miss an in-class quiz, you may not make it up. Most activities will take place outside of class (ex: on line or at a research study location). To receive course credit for supplemental exercises, all activities must be completed and submitted prior to class on the due date specified by the instructor.
