Training modules Motor feeder

1. Presentation of the equipment

The Motor feeder training modules are used to study and produce the power control of an electric motor in various start-up possibilities.

1.1 Composition
The module is composed of the following references:

The basic module, traditional electromechanical (mounting plate kit, supply kit and a set of protection and control material): ref. MD1AA740.

The Tesys U option, integrated motor feeder, modular and communicating, easy to implement: ref. MD1AA740T

The power drive system and soft start option: ref. MD1AA740V

This equipment Motor feeder training module" is proposed to study and use the control of threephase asynchronous motors with 1.5kW power, following several diagrams and solutions. The components and assembly devices proposed are the same as those used in industry. NB: To produce motor feeders with options MD1AA740T and MD1AA740V, the devices contained in the basic module MD1AA740 are required.

Devices not supplied in the modules: - motors, - containment cabinet. Use of 1.5 kW power motor is recommended.

Hands-on exercise description:

Exercise 1: The student must: verify the electrical dimensioning of the supply kit. justify the choice of protection components. justify the choice of transformer type (TBTP, TBTF, TBTS). name the conductor colours and sections normalised used in a circuitry of this type. wire the supply kit following the diagram proposed.

Exercise 2: The student must study and produce start-up of a motor with single cage, one operating direction and basic control commands: Control by an impulse pushbutton. Latched control by rotating button. Self-supplied control by two pushbuttons. Normal abrupt control. Control by two control stations. Light indications (on, off and fault).
Exercise 3: The student must study and produce start-up of a motor with single cage, two operating directions and basic control commands: Control by impulse pushbuttons. Control by impulse pushbuttons and position switches. Exercise 4: The student must study and produce star-triangle start-up consisting of starting the motor at reduced voltage by coupling star connections of windings at network voltage.
