Introit Welcome Call to worship

Loving God, we have come to worship you. Help us to pray to you in faith, to sing your praise with gratitude, to listen to your word with eagerness; and share in your Body - through Bread and Wine through Christ our Lord. Amen. 147 - All Creatures of our God and King Laudato sia Dio mio Signore 1 1,2, 3, 5, 7

All creatures of our God and King, lift up your voice and with us sing alleluia, alleluia ! Bright brother sun with golden beam, clear sister moon with softer gleam : O praise him, O praise him, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia ! Swift rushing wind, so wild and strong, high clouds that sail in heaven along, O praise him, alleluia ! New-breaking dawn, in praise rejoice, and lights of evening, find a voice : Cool flowing water, pure and clear, make music for your Lord to hear, alleluia, alleluia ! Fire, with your flames so fierce and bright, giving to all both warmth and light : And all who are of tender heart, forgiving others, take your part, O praise him, alleluia ! All who long pain and sorrow bear, praise God and cast on him your care : Let all things their Creator bless, and worship God in humbleness, O praise him, alleluia ! Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son, and praise the Spirit, Three in One :

St Francis of Assisi (11821226) translated William Henry Draper (18551933)(alt.)

Prayer

Readings - 1st Kings 17 8-24, Luke 7 11-17 110 Glory Be to God the Father. 1 Glory be to God the Father,

glory be to God the Son, glory be to God the Spirit, great Jehovah, Three in One ! Glory, glory, glory, glory while eternal ages run ! Glory be to him who loved us, washed us from each spot and stain ! Glory be to him who bought us, made us kings with him to reign ! Glory, glory, glory, glory to the Lamb that once was slain ! Glory to the King of angels, glory to the Churchs King, glory to the King of nations ! Heaven and earth, your praises bring ; glory, glory, glory, glory to the King of Glory bring ! Glory, blessing, praise eternal ! Thus the choir of angels sings ; Honour, riches, power, dominion ! Thus its praise creation brings ; glory, glory, glory, glory, glory to the King of kings !

Horatius N. Bonar (18081889)

Sermon Offering ( congregation stand for dedication of offering ) 807 Praise God from Whom all blessings flow

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow ; praise him, all creatures here below ; praise him above, ye heavenly host ; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Thomas Ken (16371711)

Dedication of offering 19 Ye Gates lift up your heads on high PSALM 24 7

Ye gates, lift up your heads on high ; ye doors that last for aye, be lifted up, that so the King of glory enter may. But who of glory is the King ? The mighty Lord is this ; * even that same Lord that great in might and strong in battle is.

10

Ye gates, lift up your heads ; ye doors, doors that do last for aye, be lifted up, that so the King of glory enter may. But who is he that is the King, the King of glory ? who is this ? The Lord of hosts, and none but he, the King of glory is. Coda : Alleluia ! alleluia ! alleluia ! alleluia ! alleluia ! Amen, amen, amen.

The last two lines of each verse are repeated.

Psalm 24, verses 7-10, The Scottish Psalter, 1929

Sacrament of Holy Communion 506 All I once held dear 1 All I once held dear,

built my life upon, all this world reveres, and wars to own, all I once thought gain I have counted loss ; spent and worthless now, compared to this : Knowing you, Jesus, knowing you, there is no greater thing. Youre my all, youre the best, youre my joy, my righteousness, and I love you, Lord. Now my hearts desire is to know you more, to be found in you and known as yours, to possess by faith what I could not earn, all-surpassing gift of righteousness. Oh, to know the power of your risen life, and to know you in your sufferings, to become like you in your death, my Lord, so with you to live and never die.

SUMMER SERVICES - whilst the school holidays are a welcome break for many youngsters, we
don't want to give the impression that you should be on holiday from church too. It has been decided that our services over July & August will follow a slightly different format, with everyone together for the first part and then the younger members leaving for a short time of activity/games/refreshments. We're looking for adults who have already been through the church's Child Protection disclosure to volunteer to help with these short sessions. There's a notice on the board at the back of the church for you to add your name. Thanks for your help. Any queries, speak to Fiona Cumming. A Date for your Diaries. Congregational Coffee Morning on Saturday 10th August at 10a.m. in the Church Hall.
