P = principal
 R = rate

 T = time

 Interest = (PRT ) / 100

 =(100000 * 10 * 5 ) /100

 = 50000 answer.

what is the rate in %?
 Amount of interest is 50 for 6 month or
100 for 12 months. Which is 10% of the
principal. Thus rate of interest is 10%.

Interest of Rs. 2100 in 3 years. R =
10%
 Three years’ interest on Rs. 100 will be
30. Thus we can find the principal:
 2100 * 100 / 30 = 7000 answer.

years in S.I., when will it triple?
 S.I. = Simple interest
 Let us assume that the money is Rs.
100. interest in years is 100 so money
gets doubled. We want to triple the
amount that means, we want 200 Rs. Of
interest. Which will take 10 years (solve
by commonsense – no need of any
formulae).

 Rate of interest is 12/ 12 = 1% monthly

compounding
 Formulae : Amt ( 1+ i) ^ no of period

 I = interest rate = 10000* (1+.0)^24

 =10000(1.01)^24

 =12697 (approx.). Answer.

 Rateof interest: 18/365 =.049

 =71496 answer.

= 5%
 We know that interest on 100 Rs. Is :
 100(1.05)^2-100 =10.25

 Thus 1640 *100/10.25

 = 16000 answer.

 =rate of interest = 12/4 = 3% or .03
 =50000*(1.03)^4

 =56275

 Thus interest amount is 6275

 Effective interest rate is 6275 / 50000

 =.1255 or 12.55% answer.

 Formulae: A [ {(1+i)^n -1}/ i]

 = interest rate = I = .1 or 10%

 =1000 * [(1+.1)^10-1]/.1

 =1000*15.937

 =15937 answer.

However, since amount is deposited at the

beginning of the period, we shall multiply
it with: 1.01 again.
=40834.8*1.01 =41243.18 answer.
