Course Fees
Courses cost 25.50 for 30 weeks which covers 3 terms. Each term costs 8.50 and courses can be paid for throughout the term in instalments. Accreditation fees will be one payment of 7.50 per accredited course. Where applicable, materials will cost 7.70 per term. Some courses will have additional costs for accreditation fees or materials. This will be stated on the course information sheet.
How to sign up
Step 1 Booking form Fill in the booking form that is enclosed with this brochure. Simply follow the instructions on the form and choose the courses that you are most interested in. Booking forms can be copied for others to use, please use one booking form per person. Please Note: If you are applying for a computer course and have not studied with us before, you will be invited to have an assessment before the class starts to identify the most suitable level for you Step 2 Where to send your booking form Once you have completed the booking form please send it to: Severn Road Centre Severn Road, Canton Cardiff CF11 9DZ Step 3 Enrolment We will contact you within 14 days of receiving your form. Courses are very popular and places are limited so if we are unable to offer you a place, your name will be added to our waiting list. If spaces become available throughout the year, we will let you know. If your enrolment is successful, we will invite you to attend an enrolment class where you can meet your tutor and pay your course fee.
This symbol means the course is accredited and has an Agored Cymru qualication. The learner will get a certicate on completion of their course. Accredited courses are suitable for ALL Learners as different levels can be achieved depending on how much support is required. Accredited course fee: 7.50 Learners can enrol on more than one accredited course, but only pay one enrolment fee of 8.50 per term. Other courses are free so you only pay for each certicate! Level 1 Symbol
This symbol means the course is accredited at Level 1 which is a level higher than other accredited classes. Level 1 is normally for learners who already have an Agored Cymru certicate at Entry Level.

Powerhouse, Llanedeyrn Thursday, 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm The jewellery course gives learners the opportunity to look at jewellery, considering colour, shape and style to make their own pieces. Learners will also have the opportunity to experiment with different materials to make beads from felt, mo and clay. These courses have an additional materials charge of 7.70 per term.

Wesley Methodist Church, Cowbridge Road East, Canton. Monday, 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm Guided by an expert tutor, learners will learn about painting with watercolour and experimenting with different brush strokes. This course has an additional materials charge of 7.70 per term.

African Hand Drumming
Park View Caf, (Cloisters) Friday, 9.30 am - 11.30 pm The African hand-drumming course aims to encourage learners to nd out more about different drumming techniques and styles from Latin to Afro-Cuban. Learners will be able to try drums of different shapes and sizes, learning how to use the drum to create different sounds and rhythms.

Music For Beginners
Rumney Chapel, Wentloog Road Thursday, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm Music for beginners gives Learners the chance to develop their music skills. The course looks at popular music covering the last few decades. Learners will be encouraged to use their voice, play instruments, play solo and as a group. It is hoped that learners will do a performance at the end of the last term.
Lets Dance
Park View Caf, Canton Tuesday, 10.00 am -11.30 am Lets Dance aims to encourage students with high support needs to try gentle movements to a range of music. Students will be able to work individually and as a group, building on sequences they have worked on and suggesting new movements of their own. Gentle movements are designed to promote exibility and build condence. Students work at a pace that suits them. Please wear loose clothing for dance courses.

Rubicon Centre Wednesday, 1.00 pm - 2.00 pm This course is suitable for learners who have had some previous experience in dance. Learners and support workers will be encouraged to take part in a variety of dance activities trying out different styles to different types of music. The class will be energetic and fun with the focus on having a go. Please wear loose clothing for dance courses.

Severn Road Centre Computer Suite Tuesday 10.00 am - 12.00pm On this course learners will create their own personal diary and learn how to use a digital camera. Learners will be able to: Find out what a diary is and why we might keep one Take photographs with a digital camera. Use images to create a visual diary Have fun by manipulating their images with a computer package Create their own personal visual diary

International Cooking
Howardian Centre Tuesday, 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm This course covers the basics of cookery and teaches learners to make a range of international dishes. Throughout the course learners will prepare dishes from all over the world including Italy, America, France, China and India. Learners with experience of international cooking can introduce dishes to the class and share their knowledge whilst learning different styles of cookery from around the globe. Learners will be required to supply their own ingredients for recipes
Basic Cookery
Willows High School Wednesday, 6.30 pm - 8.30 pm This course looks at mastering the basics of cookery. Learners will prepare a range of dishes that will give them a chance to practice chopping, boiling, frying, baking and grilling food. General hygiene and safety in the kitchen will also be covered as part of this course. Learners will be required to supply their own ingredients for recipes.

The Dome Pentwyn Monday, 10.00 am - 12.00 pm The living independently course will encourage learners to make informed choices about everyday tasks including: What to wear The cost of clothes How you look How to keep yourself safe Coping with an emergency Coping with someone who is not well Using plasters and bandages

Self Advocacy
The Dome Pentwyn Monday, 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm Learners will understand the purpose of committees and meetings, learning how to run their own meetings with agendas and a chairperson. Working together as a group, learners will discuss issues and nd solutions. The tutor will also teach learners to understand what it means to vote. This course is ideal for people who like discussions and taking part in debates.
Healthy Living
Canton Community Centre Thursday, 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm The healthy living course encourages learners to live a healthier lifestyle, learning tips for exercise and diet. The course will cover: Exercise, its benets & safety aspects New sports & exercises at Leisure Centres and outdoors New ways to relax & cope with stress Healthy eating options & planning a healthy meal Choosing a healthy meal in a caf or restaurant
