10. A fluid system undergoes a non flow frictionless process following the pressure volume relation as P=(4.5/v) +2 Where P is in bar and v is in m3. During the process the volume changes from 0.12m3 to 0.04m3 and the system rejected 40KJ of heat . Determine the change in internal change and enthalpy. (OR) 11. A reciprocating air compressor takes in 2m3/min at 0.11MPa, 20oC which it delivers at 1.5MPa, 111oC to an after cooler where the air is cooled at constant pressure to 25oC. The power absorbed by compressor is 4.15KW. Determine the heat transfer in after cooler and in the compressor. 12. Air flows steadily at the rate of 0.4kg/s through an air compressor entering at 6m/s with a pressure of 1bar and a specific volume of 0.85m3/kg and leaving at 4.5m/s with a pressure of 6.9bar and a specific volume of 0.16m3/kg. The internal energy of air leaving is 88KJ/kg greater than that of air entering. Cooling water in a jacket surrounding the cylinder absorbs heat from the sir at the rate of 59kw. Calculate the power required to drive the compressor. (OR) 13. A gas of mass 1.5kg under goes a quasi static expansion which follows the relationship P=a+bV where a and b are constants. The initial and final pressures are 1000kpa and 200kpa respectively and the corresponding volumes are 0.20m3 and 1.2m3. The specific internal energy of the gas is given by the relation u=1.5Pv-85KJ/kg. Where P is I n kpa and v is in m3/kg. Calculate the heat transfer and maximum internal energy attained during the expansion.
