1)

Pressure - Temperature limitations for flanges shall conform to the following: a) ASME B16.1 for 125 and 250 lb. cast iron flanges. b) ASME B16.5 for all steel flange sizes & ratings up to 24 inches. c) ASME B16.47 for steel flange sizes & ratings above 24 inches Unless noted otherwise, the following shall conform to ASME B31.3 or other industry standards as applicable: a) Determination of piping design pressure and temperature. b) Calculation of pipe wall thickness. c) Determination of piping test pressure. d) Pipe fabrication, heat treatment (when required), inspection, and leak testing. Wall thicknesses for pipe in vacuum services and lines which are jacketed shall be calculated for external pressure per Note 2. All buried pipe shall be protected against corrosion in accordance with the requirements of the applicable job specification. For all transitions between above ground and below ground piping, protective coating requirements shall be maintained for 12" minimum above grade.

Design Conditions Basis Code:

Number designation indicates operating condition inside the following short term limits. 1 - Short term upset, maximum of 10 hours per upset & 100 hours per year. Maximum allowable pressure overstress is 33% of design. 2 - Short term upset, maximum of 50 hours per upset & 500 hours per year. Maximum allowable pressure overstress is 20% of design. 3 - Short term self limiting (i.e. PSV accumulation), maximum of 50 hours per upset and 500 hours per year. Maximum allowable pressure overstress is 20% of design. This case permits process to match piping design to equipment design and let the short term upset handle the accumulation.

5)

Test Method:
