All the renowned gear and automotive manufacturers worldwide have successfully been using Hermes honing rings for over 20 years. We have continuously developed the resin-bonded, internalgear honing rings for Fssler honing. For example, vitrified-bonded conglomerates in Hermes Profine honing rings make it possible for the first time for gears to be honed immediately after hardening. Alternatively, the hollow spheres coated in abrasive grain in patented Hermes Hermesit honing rings are proven to reduce grinding forces during operation (with the outcome being improved honing results). The latest direct-drive machines allow ceramic honing rings to be used. Intensive collaboration with machine manufacturers and research institutions has allowed the development of Hermes Cerfine honing rings. The consistent quality ensures very high levels of performance for these vitrified-bonded or sintered aluminum oxide tools. Hermes has the expertise and the facilities to design the tooth geometry of honing rings in accordance with specified workpiece data or specific customer requirements. All common diameters up to 15 3 /4" and widths up to 3 5 /32" can be produced. Hermes continuously invests in production technology, so grinding tools are produced to the latest state of the art.
