Since 1931, The Bay Shore Lions Club has worked diligently for you and your neighbors to help create a better Bay Shore. The Bay Shore Lion members are volunteer community minded fellow citizens volunteering to improving the lives of the less fortunate in our area. Throughout the year, we sponsor charity fund raising events to benefit many local organizations. We are proud to add the Richie Lewis Memorial Golf Classic to our events.

Dear Friends & Sponsors, As many of you are aware, we lost our fellow Lion and dear friend Richie Lewis on June 16, 2009. He fought a brave battle against cancer and is dearly missed. One of Richies hopes was to have a strong and prosperous Lions Club. His primary fund raiser for the Lions Club was the annual golf outing. Of course, his favorite past time was golf and Richie could be found at Timber Point Country Club every chance he had. Before Richie passed he asked if we would make sure the outing went on, as he was too sick to plan it himself. As fate would have it, Richie succumbed to his illness and was not with us for the 2009 outing. That year the Brightwaters Lions Club had their golf outing in memory of Richie. It turned out to be the largest fund raising event the Brightwaters Lions had ever had. Richie was smiling down upon us and was very proud of our accomplishment. For our success we owe many thanks to our friends, families and sponsors whose time, prize donations and sponsorship money helped make our outing the success it was. Our last two golf outings were even bigger and better then the previous years. So again this year we are asking you to please consider one of our sponsorship opportunities or to donate a gift for our raffles. Together we can help our community and those less fortunate than ourselves. The entire Lions Club would like to thank you for your continued support and contributions.
