Present

Present Simple
Form Form Subject + verb simple Uses Simple Present tense is used to describe habitual actions that occur with some frequency and makes no reference to whether it is happening in the present. Examples

Present Perfect
Form Form Have + Past Participle verb Uses Is a perfect time used to express the action has been completed with respect to the time that is the speaker. Examples

Affirmative: I speak English and French Negative: I don't (do not) smoke Interrogative: Do you speak Spanish?

Affirmative: He has walked Negative: He has not walked. Interrogative: Has he walked?

Present Progressive
Form Form Have + be +infinitive + "-ing

Present Perfect Progressive


Form Form Have + be +infinitive + "-ing Uses Is a verb form that helps us to highlight an action that started in the past and has continued to occur up to the present Examples

Uses is used to express actions happening at the same time you are talking
Examples

Affirmative: You are playing Negative: You are not playing Interrogative: Are you playing?

Affirmative: I have been studying for 2 hours this afternoon.


Negative: I havent been studying for a long time. Interrogative: Have you been studying for a long time?
