API evolutions
Feature Description General API: Support for VC++ 6.0 (Microsoft Visual Studio 98) will be discontinued. Development environments that will be supported are VC++ 7.1 and VC++ 8.0. Where applicable, VBScript arrays will be supported as input parameters. Improvements in error detection and messages will be added. New HCS layers rules will be integrated into the GetSortedSignals function. It will be possible to start calculating a Interference Matrix using the API (in batch mode). This will permit automatic background preparation for the AFP. Managing interference matrices will be possible from API. Reading and writing to interference matrix data, as well as accessing the scope and context, will be possible using API. It will be possible to create add-ins that is aware of licence token utilisation.
7/49
The API will allow access to general properties such as antenna height and offset, radiated power, antenna gain units, and the private pathloss folder. The API will allow you to view the differences between the current state of the document and the state of the data on the data base. You will be able to filter and sort radio data using the API. You will be able to enable co-planning features using the API, creating linked items in the Explorer window. It will be possible to create a UMTS simulation using the API. There will be a new "CalculatePoints document service, allowing you to compute the best signals on an arbitrary set on points, with no need for pathloss matrices. Add-ins will be able to request standard as well as custom services from Atoll and from other add-ins. It will be possible to run automatic intra and inter technology neighbour allocation from API. The user will be able to choose whether to load neighbours when refreshing data from a database using the API. TabularData Objects: Will have access to filed titles (as opposed to field names). It will be possible to know which fields are part of the key definition It will be able to import CW Measurements It will be possible to import Test Mobile Data

IPlanner Interface
Feature Description IPlanner is the interface between A9155 Radio Network Planning tool and the UMTS OMC and is used by network planers to export data from A9155 V6 RNP tool. IPlanner exports all specific fields in DRF XML format compatible with WPS Access V3.1 and WPS Access V4.1RNC. The DRF (Data Request Form) is an exchange functionality for RNS parameters setting. It covers the creation, extension and optimization steps of network configuration. Despite it can be

used for unitary purposes, its main interest is massive configuration. IPlanner exports all specific fields in CP XML format compatible with WPS Access V4.2. The CP XML format is an XML document format used to describe the configuration of network element resources. This file format is used to export from iPlanner and import into the WPS Access tool in order to set/retrieve the cell planning configuration. A9155 core application, UMTS module

Maintenance Features
Due to the maintenance contract between Alcatel-Lucent and Forsk [2], there are several features that are implemented in new releases on request of Alcatel-Lucent or due to general requests from other customers of Forsk without an official and single ordering of Alcatel-Lucent. In meetings held with Forsk those features have been synchronized with the features requested by Alcatel-Lucent internal and external users.

File Properties
Feature Description The version and build number of A9155 that is used to last save an A9155 document will be stored in the properties of each A9155 file. The user will find out what version and build was used to the last save any A9155 document by right-clicking it in Windows Explorer, selecting Properties from the context menu and clicking the Advanced button on the Summary tab. document at a defined interval of time. In order to make autosave backups of documents they will have to have a file name assigned first. For each document, A9155 will create an autosave backup file (filename.atl.backup) in the same working folder as the original ATL file and will autosave backup file from time to time. The autosave configuration properties will be available using the File option of the Menu bar and will allow the activation/deactivation of the autosave feature and setting the interval of time between successive saves. When a user will open a document from a database, he will have the possibility to select which set of custom fields he accesses. A list with the names of the groups defined for the custom fields of the database will be displayed. This will allow users to have access to the database fields they need while reducing the use of computer resources. It will be possible to define a name and a legend entry for each field. The name will appear in the database and the legend entry in the ATL file. For the legend entry a new field Caption will be added in the Custom fields table. A9155 core application

"TX Diversity or "Coverage" mode: in this mode, one TRX (8 radio TS) is used in the twin module, with TX Diversity function: the two branches of the twin module send the same signal, with an optimized time delay between both signals. Thanks to on-air combining and diversity gain, this mode is equivalent to a very high TX power (up to 175 W in dense urban and GSM 900, assuming a diversity gain of 2.9 dB). For the uplink path, either 2 way (optionally with TMA) or 4 way Receive Diversity can be used in order to balance the link budget. There are several features which fit with the TWIN TRX in Coverage mode: TX Diversity, 2RX Diversity, 4 RX Diversity and B9 unbalanced power feature. A9155 core application, GUI

HSUPA UE categories and HSUPA radio bearers will be modeled in dedicated tables. These tables can be accessed from the context menu of the Terminals and Services folders. HSUPA traffic will be managed in the Monte Carlo Simulation. An additional portion will be implemented in the power control algorithm. It will model an admission control on the HSUPA users followed by noise rise scheduling. The happy bit mechanism will be modeled as well and radio resource control will be performed at the end. A new HSUPA coverage prediction will be added allowing the study of RLC, MAC and application throughputs per pixel and E-DPDCH Ec/Nt. The user will be able to calculate the coverage prediction for a scenario where a single user has the entire HSUPA capacity, or where the HSUPA capacity is shared equally between all HSUPA users. If defined, A9155 will use it. Otherwise, A9155 will create the IRF graph during the interference calculation by using the transmission spectrum and receiver selectivity graphs. A9155 will use the graphs (T/I, transmission spectrum, and receiver selectivity graphs) defined for equipment if they are available or it will use the theoretical graphs if not. Results in the interference reports will be detailed for two BER values and a global estimation of the link will be provided. A9155 core application, Microwave Link module

This number includes the pilot and data subcarriers. o Number of Data Subcarriers: The number of subcarriers used for data transfer. o Number of Subchannels per Channel: The number of subchannels in the channel. o Subframe: downlink or the uplink subframe. o Quality Threshold (dB): The minimum signal quality required for a user to be allocated a permutation zone. o Max Speed (km/h): The maximum vehicular speed supported by the permutation zone. o Max Distance: The maximum distance from the base station covered by the permutation zone. o Priority: The priority of the permutation zone in terms of its allocation to a user. o Antenna Diversity Support: Select the type of antenna diversity technique supported by the permutation zone. o Secondary Groups Used: For segmented frame configurations using 1024 and 2048 total subcarriers, select which of the secondary subchannel groups (1, 3, 5) are used by the PUSC DL permutation zones. Sub-channels allocation modes with higher pilot subcarriers densities, such as PUSC, will be assigned to users at high speeds. When assigning users to allocation modes such as the AMC zone, Radio Resource Management algorithm of WiMAX module should consider also the user equipment capabilities. Only user equipment capable to work with AAS (Adaptive Antenna System) will be assigned to the AMC zone. A9155 core application, WIMAX module o

Neighbour allocation
With A9155 V6.6, for WiMAX 802.16e networks, it should be possible to define neighbours manually. A9155 will support the following neighbour types in a WIMAX network: Intra-technology neighbours: Intra-technology neighbours are cells defined as neighbours and both use WIMAX. Intratechnology neighbour cells perform handover using a different carrier. Inter-technology neighbours: Inter-technology neighbours are cells defined as neighbours that use a technology other than WIMAX A9155 core application, WIMAX module
