I've talked with over a dozen peace marchers.

Half of them don't know what that peace symbol's
meaning' is and I've gotten different answers from
the other half. What i~ the true meaning of symbol'!

The crowfooted, broken-
invelied cross has been described
as the sign of the anti-Ohri"t.
It is a Satanic emblem of medip.-
val times used to actually brand
Jews on the aJ1"111or forehead to
indicate they were not true be-
lieVE~;. .
This emblem was also .used
as a sign of the devil and was
painted over doors of those who
were to be put to death. In later
times it was imprinted on tomb-
stont's to indica,te the burial
ground of evil spirits or those
believed to be witches.
It was firs.t used as a peace symbol in 1959 at the
Easter Peace Walk in England. Originally the de-
silPlers tried to incorporate the Nand D of nuclear
disarmament but settled on the inverted cross in-
cased in a ring.
