TRAPS SELECTOR BS EN 12056 - 2 : 2000 requires that traps that discharge to a soil stack have a 75mm water seal, however, 50mm water seal traps can be fitted to baths; shower trays and basins without plugs fitted with spray taps. 38mm water seal traps can only be used on ground floor flat bottomed appliances that discharge to a back inlet gully trap.

WC CONNECTORS
Hunter Plumbers Bits WC connectors are manufactured in accordance with 855627 for water and air-tightness and that means no call-backs!

A SIMPLE CONNECTION
There is a Hunter Plumbers Bits WC connector for most installations. From a straightforward job to multiple connections and misaligned pans, Plumbers Bits W C connectors take the hard work out of the job. Hunter manufactures a range of WC connectors, including:

AN ALL-PURPOSE CONNECTION
Hunter Plumbers Bits all-purpose tails are designed to be used even on installations with a marginal deflection. They can be pushed into the pipe without lubrication - plumbers simply push the connector into a clean soil pipe spigot, align the pan outlet or pipe spigot with the connector socket, and push it through the sealing flanges to achieve a watertight joint.

A SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT
Plumbers Bits adjustable WC connectors are designed to connect up to five separate pans together, using just one common pipe. They suit 655503 horizontal outlet pans and can accommodate up to +I 2" movement on the joint between the branch and the W C connector. The minimum gradient on the horizontal float should be 112" or Pmmlm. The 5750 boss adaptor can be solvent-welded onto a side boss of the branch to allow for a 50mm (2") traditional ventilation pipe if this is necessary.

WCs can be connected directly to a drain using Hunter Plumbers Bits W C connectors without individual venting, provided that the vertical distance from the crown of the trap to the invert of the drain is no more than 1.5m in accordance with current Building Regulations.

If pipework is misaligned by more than a few millimetres, using a standard connector could lead to leaks. The Hunter Plumbers Bits offset connector w i l l allow up to 22mm centres difference - enough for the most challenging jobs.

FLEXIBLE WASTE ADAPTOR

Hunters general plumbing range includes a flexible waste adaptor (0525). The product will accept two waste pipes of either 32mm or 40mm diameter. It i s made from flexible EPDM and manufactured with one inlet open and one closed. The closed inlet can be opened with a sharp knife. It can be fitted into a socket by replacing the ring seal or inside the bore of 1lOmm pipe, (see illustration below). 3

NOW ALMOST ANY TRAP CAN BE ANTI-VAC!

Installing an anti-vac fitting will neutralise siphonic pressure before it affects the traps' water seal, preventing foul odours; it also reduces or prevents annoying waste gurgling. Simply select an antivac or resealing trap, or install GurgleMaster I1 the simple yet ingenious in-line anti-vac device which provides the equivalent of a fully vented waste system.

PUSH FIT WASTE

Hunter push-fit pipes and fittings are manufactured in high grade Polypropylene and fully comply with British Standard requirements. Fittings incorporate an '0' ring seal which conforms to BS EN681. An integral pipe stop is also featured. Polypropylene should be stored out of direct sunlight because it can be adversely affected by ultra-violet light. Consequently, if installed externally, pipes and fittings will need to be protected. Polypropylene i s chemically resistant to most acids, alkalis, household bleaches and detergents and even to intermittent discharges of boiling water. Hunter also supplies a full range of silicone lubricants, to aid push-fit installation and assist necessary thermal movement.

SOLVENT WASTE Hunter solvent weld waste systems are manufactured in MuPVC (Modified Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride) to fully comply with British Standard requirements. MuPVC is chemically resistant to most acids, alkalis, bleaches, detergents, and aqueous solutions and is also ideal for use in applications where there will be high temperature waste discharge. MuPVC has excellent resistance to ultraviolet light and does not require any treatment if used outdoors. Hunter also supplies a full range of solvent cleaner and solvent cement to make any solvent weld installation go smoothly.
