The Ability To Speak In Tongues Comes From The Holy Spirit!

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance ( A c t s2 : 4 ) .

n the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples of Jesus, and immediately they began to speak in other tongues. Some of those outside began to mock them, because the Bible says he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries (1 Corinthians 14:2). When you speak in other tongues, no man understands what youre saying, because youre speaking to God. However, the point you should note is that the disciples spoke with tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. The Living Bible says they began speaking in languages they didnt know, for the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. The Good News Bible puts it this way: They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to talk in other languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak. Whichever translation you use, one thing is clear: its the Holy Spirit that gives us the ability to speak in other tongues. Contrary to what the skeptics say, its not something you force out of your mouth or try to do; its the Holy Spirit that enables you to do it. However, its important for you to know that though its the Holy Spirit who gives the ability, youre the one who has to open your mouth in faith and speak those tongues, as He gives you the ability. Hallelujah.

Dear Lord, I thank you for filling me with your precious Holy Spirit and for the utterance Hes given me to speak in other tongues. As I do, I speak forth mysteries and build myself up spiritually. Thank you for this wonderful gift, in Jesus Name. Amen.
