groups (1-4) of teenage – senior citizens of various levels of English
language abilities and to large groups (10-20) of young children as well.

• Florida State University – Tallahassee, FL (Sept 2005 – Dec 2008)
o Instructor of record for Multicultural Film in traditional face-to-face,
hybrid, and web-based formatted courses with classroom sizes ranging
from 30-48, Engaged in an ongoing dialogue with students using film as
an example of popular culture’s relationship with society by comparing the
cinematic representations of various ethnicities, genders, sexualities,
socioeconomic groups, handicap groups, etc. throughout the century(-ish)
of American Cinema with these groups corresponding societal situations.
• Florida State University – Tallahassee, FL (Jan – 2009 – May 2009)
o Created syllabus for and instructed two sections (48 and 20 students) of -
Hip-hop Music & Culture: An American Artistic Tradition (listed as Hip-
hop in America) through the Program for Florida & American Studies.
Course is being offered again in Fall 2009. Engaged in ongoing dialogue
with students about the culture of Hip-hop, the community that has grown
around it, its various impacts on the arts, politics, and technology, and the
various issues that surrounds it as a cultural movement.

Music: The State of Independent Music in America” sponsored by Florida
State University’s Program for American & Florida Studies

o Sat as a panelist for “True Art of Hip-hop Seminar” sponsored and hosted
by Phi Mu Alpha SINFONIA

Artistic Accomplishments
• Writer
o Published Creative Non-Fiction piece “Blazin’ on the Real” in “The Girl,
A Cigarette, and My Trusty Horse” The Susquehanna Review Student
Literary Magazine 1999-2000
o Wrote and edited collection of short fiction entitled “Distractions”
(unpublished – complete May 2003)
o Presently working on a third and a fourth screenplays, both collaborative
endeavors. First two, one registered with SGA, other still in editing stage,
were solo efforts.
• Recording and Performing Artist (under the moniker MAGEE.me AKA DJ
Maniac Magee)
o Has recorded various songs as a solo artist, and has been featured on songs
by other artists, as a lyricist since 2001.
o As a DJ has recorded and released three promotional mixtapes (“Rough
House Residents: Reality & Magee” (2007), “R.E.A.L.I.T.Y.’s Just A
Dose…the MIXTAPE” (2008), “SBE vs RHT” (2009), and three more
expected to be released in 2009), and is in the process of recording a
collaborative album with Zheng player Haiqoing Deng.
o Has performed as both lyricist and DJ in solo and group settings since
2001, including events throughout the United States and internationally.
o Has performed as an additional percussionist with the Tallahassee-based
groups Runaway Soul, Planet Zoron, and Salsa Florida.

o Launched RHT United in 2005 and has since served as its Director of
Promotions which has included overseeing product launching, artist
branding, event promotion, and the design, launch, and upkeep of
roughhousetactics.com and soon rhttv.com.
