As of 2:30 pm on July 2, 2013 the following Buchanan County Secondary Roads Department was reporting the following roads closed: 1. Quonset Ave from 290th St to 310th St 2. Washington Ave from 260th St to 270th St 3. 300th St. from Vincent Ave to Washington Ave (bridge is washed out) W35 south of Quasqueton between 290th & 300th St. will be open today, July 2, at 4 pm Highway 150 South of Independence is now re-opened to I-380. If you note an unmarked area, please report to the Buchanan County Roads Department at 319-334-6031 or Buchanan County Sheriffs Office at 319-3342567 and ideally mark to warn others. Sandbagging Collection The City of Independence has distributed pallets throughout areas where sandbagging took place. Place full sandbags neatly on the pallets and the city will collect.
