Diesel Gen-Set
Very volatile diesel price Burden of operation and maintenance cost and human resources (exchange of oil, filter, etc.)
Direct GHG emission from the Gen-set Noise and air pollution
The control of power supply risk is one of the significant factors on very competitive BTS market
5
Hybrid system can absorb the risks of the volatilities of renewable energies Long-term quality of each equipment (Japan quality is vital) Lower air pollution and noise Low emission of Greenhouse gas Less hazardous waste

Methodology
(1) Eligibility Criteria
Criteria Reduction of power consumption of the BTS from the existing supply by installing the hy-brid renewable energy system. Hy-brid renewable energy system hereby does not only mean the power system consisted of renewable energy system (such as solar power, wind power or micro hydro system), but it also consist a power controlling system which controls the whole power supply for that BTS, which optimizes the power supply to the BTS. Able to grasp the power consumption of that BTS which installs the hy-brid renewable energy system. Must be able to grasp the capacity, number and place of that BTS system to be installed.

Methodology
(2) Reference scenario setting
The power supplied to that BTS (existing or new) is supplied via non-renewable energy (i.e. at unelectrified areas from diesel gen-set, at electrified areas from the grid) If unelectrified areas shall be electrified during the project period, the emission amount based on the grid emission factor shall be the reference emission amount. If there shall be any quantified goal set for renewable energy to be supplied to the BTS during the project period, that goal shall be the reference scenario.
