High Velocity Panel Filters

The Parker Farr Type 44 is the ideal choice where high dirt-holding capacity, low initial resistance and ease of maintenance in a permanent panel filter are essential. The Type 44s unique design utilizes alternating layers of flat and herringbone crimped fine wire mesh to form triangular openings facing the airstream. This configuration allows air to pass through the filter at high velocity while changing direction frequently, and impinging dirt particles on thewire media. Dirt loads progressively through the media, not just on the face of the filter. Dirt holding capacity has often exceeded competitive units by as much as 9 to 1.

Space Saving Design

Due to their high airflow capacity and low pressure loss, as compared to ordinary panel filters, fewer Parker Type 44 filters can often be used, and still meet airflow requirements. Reduced space requirements, lower initial cost, and long-term maintenance savings are the result.

High Efciency
The average efficiency of a 2 Type 44 filter is 71.2% using the Cottrell Precipitate and Lint Test. Dirt-holding capacity on this same test is over 700 grams on a 20x 20 filter. Efficiency and dirt-holding capacity using the Gravimetric Test, with Standardized Fine Air Cleaner Test Dust is 75.5% and over 800 grams respectively (both tests were conducted with oiled filters).

Selection and Ordering Designations

Type 44 Standard 14 mesh zinc electroplated steel screen media arranged in alternate layers of flat and herringbone crimp screens, four layers of each per inch. They are an ideal choice to control both atmospheric dust and airborne particulates generated from manufacturing operations. These filters are normally operated with a tackifier. Type 44H The same as Type 44, but with bail handles mounted on long dimension of filter. Type 44G Grease application. Filters not to be oiled. Type 44R - Railroad type filters with expanded metal on both sides. 2 1/8 thick. Type 44HG The same as Type 44G, but with handles. Type 44HGE - The same as Type 44HG, but with expanded metal on handle side only. Type 44MZ - Maritime filter. The same as Type 44, but with hot dip galvanized frame and zinc finished frame and media.
