THE GIVER’S REWARDS

Introduction

We are highly thankful to God for the land He has given us, where an architectural complex
with an 8.000 seats convention center, a pastoral and administrative building, besides an
educational building will be built.

We can find many rewards in God’s word for the ones who are willing to give for the temple
project. Read Psalms 20

I. It is good before God’s eyes the interest and the desire to build a sanctuary.

1 Kings 8:18 “But the Lord told him, ‘You wanted to build the Temple to honor my name.”

Let us see some rewards from God when you are willing to give to build God’s sanctuary:

1. Answers to the prayers:

It empowers the answers to prayers. Salomon was the human mean to build such splendid

temple. He asked God that He committed himself to answer his prayers made in it.

1 Kings 8:30 “May you hear the humble and earnest requests from me and your people Israel
when we pray toward this place. Yes, hear us from heaven where you live, and when you
hear, forgive."

1 Kings 8:38-39 “and if your people Israel pray about their troubles, raising their hands
toward this Temple, then hear from heaven where you live, and forgive. Give your people
what their actions deserve, for you alone know each human heart.”

That is the reason why Jesus said: “My house will be called a prayer house by the nations.”

2. Healing miracles:

Luke 7: 4-5 “So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help,
he does,” they said, “for he loves the Jewish people and even built a synagogue for us.”

Here we find how Jesus healed the centurion’s servant, who was in death agony. Some Jews
leaders said to Jesus that this man was worthy of receiving such miracle because he was a
warrior.

In our church, in the year 2003, there was a woman who was diagnosed with cancer. Her
breast would be amputated, but she decided to believe God so she sowed all the money she
had saved, for the temple building project we have. Not only the Lord didn't allow her breast
be amputated, but also her husband became Christian and today both are in church.

3. A good reputation:

The Book of Proverbs says that “a good name is better than many riches.” Matthew 26 says
about Jesus

being anointed by a woman, who had bad reputation in the past, and how she poured on
him an expensive perfume, which would cost nowadays around a hole year’s minimum
wage. For such action of generosity Jesus raised her memorial name.

Matthew 26:13 “I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the

world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed.”

The heavy-weight boxing fighter, Holyfield, defeated Mike Tyson. What many people don’t
know is the spiritual pilgrimage that Holyfield had to go through.

He was in bankrupt and physically weak. One day he went to church and he heard the
message about tithes. He obeyed and his heart condition was miraculously healed and his
boxing license which had been revoked was again authorized. The odds were 21 against
Holyfield.

He gave the testimony about how the Holy Spirit gave him strength and guided his fist while
he prayed in tongues during each assault.

Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

4. Fullness of the Holy Spirit:

2 Chronicles 7:1-2 " When Solomon finished praying, fire flashed down from heaven and
burned up the burnt offerings and sacrifices, and the glorious presence of the Lord filled the
Temple. 2 The priests could not enter the Temple of the Lord because the glorious presence of
the Lord filled it.”

Let us notice that the Holy Spirit descended in the dedication of the temple upon all the
offering givers.

In the New Testament the Holy Spirit fell upon Cornelius and company due to his fear of God
and to his generosity.

Acts 10:2 " He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave
generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.”

5. Financial provision:

Benny Hinn tells the story about an offering that arrived to his organization for US $266.50.
It called his attention because of the cents. When they called the couple who gave it, they
realized that the couple were going through big economic problems. After a few weeks they
discovered petroleum in their house. The “black gold” exploring company found thousands
of dollars on behalf of this couple.

Psalms 26:8 “ I love your sanctuary, Lord, the place where your glorious presence dwells.”
