Master N O T E S: 1) Certificate has to be renewed prior expiration of the validity. 2) Due date for survey is always the anniversary date (date of validity) of the certificate. Survey can be carried out within the period of plus / minus 3 months from the anniversary date. 3) Safety construction certificate has always the same validity with the class certificate. There are no extra surveys for safety construction but based on successful annual surveys of class the certificate can be endorsed for the periodical (annual) survey. 4) The time window in this case is plus /minus 6 months and therefore the survey /audit can be carried out either at the 2 nd or at the 3rd anniversary of the certificate. 5) I.O.P.P. certificate has always the same validity with the class certificate. 6) The frequency of this survey /testing is every five years. There are only 4 countries in the world (India, Australia, Malta and New Zealand) that do not accept the 5 years cycle. In this case the survey /testing has to be carried out every 4 years. 7) There is no plus 3 months window. Survey to be carried out latest in one years time from the previous survey. 8) Not beyond the expiry date of class. 9) There are different surveys for tail shaft [e.g. In place (SWS), modified (SWM), withdrawal (SW)]. Next due date and type of survey in accordance with the standard of the respective classification society. Depending on classification society this survey can be done every 5 years considered as a machinery item (LR) however during annual survey of LR, hull /machinery /automation is being surveyed or every 2 years (GL) which states that deviating intervals as stipulated by the flag state must be followed. Greek flag extends this survey to 3 years. 10)Garbage certificate is a part of Annex V of MARPOL 73/78, Regulation 9 for the prevention of pollution by garbage from ships. Application of the regulation has been implemented since 01/07/98 Sewage certificate is part of Requirement of Annex IV of MARPOL 73/78, Regulation for the prevention of pollution by sewage. Implementation for Greek Flag vessels has been exempted since 12/08/1999 by Presidential Degree. 11)CO2 Cylinders (Fixed system) and Portable extinguishers are checked for content capacity every year. As for the hydraulic test every 10 years for the first 20 years and thereafter every 5 years Air breathing apparatuses cylinders yearly for contents and every 5 years hydraulic test
