DISCUSSION
Often very effective for frozen shoulder. This may be in part due to its ability to release the subscapularis tendon. The needle may be inserted into the musculotendinous junction of the subscapularis, posterior to the axillary sheath. Pain, distension, fullness of chest and ribs, helps relax the rib cage, combines well w/ SP21. MP for pain, tremors, and numbness of elbow, forearm, and hand, whether from internal wind, wind damp, def blood or any etiology. Moves and regulates Qi and blood locally; good point for Parkinsons disease, atrophy disorder (wei), hemiplegia. This point may affect the meridian and ulnar nerves, as it lies about midway between them. Often combined w/ LI11, LI10, LI4, SI8, TW10, TW5. For spirit problems from heat or phlegm stagnation in HT channel, for hyperactivity, agitation, insomnia, nervous exhaustion, depression MP for speech and vocal disorders, aphasia, hoarseness, inflammation of the larynx, pharynx, vocal cords. Jing Well, clears heat and obstruction from the opposite end of the channel, for high fever, heatstroke, sore throat, dry throat, throat obstruction, heat in mouth area, eye redness and pain, agitation, irritability. Also mentioned classically for chest and HT pain, fear and fright. Restores consciousness from collapse, fainting, windstroke HT attack emergency point, use very strong stimulation (may be useful in addition to CPR if an extra person is available.
