11:13:22 PDT Question: Is the code being for testing delivered raw or compiled? and does this impact how you need to set up your environment? Not sure if this is relevant today... Answer: @Techanalyst. I didn't understand the context here, can you rephrase: Is the code being for testing delivered raw or compiled? and does this impact how you need to set up your environment?

11:14:17 PDT Question: I'm new to this and trying to move my Dev team off of VSS... Can you build 32bit apps as well as 64bit apps on TFS 2012? Also when you use the build agent does it compile all code or only what you select, a project under the TPC? Answer: Hi DMC - You can build both 32bit and 64bit application. You can also choose exactly what solutions/projects are built. I'll demonstrate this a little elater today.

11:14:19 PDT Question: I setup TFS last week, but i'm just a single developer. Would TFS allow me to share my projects with msft developers directly on Ohours.org? Answer: @AudibleDesigns: Yes, but you need to expose your TFS to the internet. For a single dev I would HIGHLY encourage http://tfs.visualstudio.com for cloud hosting. (Free for up to 5 users.)

11:15:12 PDT Question: Never mind I found the answer in the installation guide: Because Team Foundation Server installs SharePoint Foundation 2010 with the standard configuration, you can't use it on Windows Server 2012. If you want to install Team Foundation Server on Windows Server 2012, use the advanced configuration and skip the installation of SharePoint Foundation 2010. Answer: @Erica, nice find in the install guide! :-D

11:15:44 PDT Question: Do I need a proxy server on the build box if users are only pulling down source deltas? Answer: Hi Kevin, Steve's advice about having a TFS Proxy for Build was to reduce the "get" load that the build server would place on the TFS server. It had nothing to do with users in this case.

11:17:22 PDT Question: you mentioned earlier about fronting the build agents with a TFS proxy server to reduce performance impact based on builds pulling down the entire workspace...could you not simply address that by configuring your build definition to clean "none" so that only incremental source changes are pulled down to the agent(s)? Answer: Hi mmikkelson, yes this could have that effect but it could impact more than just improving performance. The proxy option would give you the perf benefits independently of the workspace cleaning.

11:18:26 PDT Question: Hi.. Can Build Service & Application Tier sit on same server? Answer: Hi PradeepMN, yes, you could put a Build Controller on the application tier. Remember you need a Build Controller for each TPC and you can only have one controller on a machine.
