Dear All, First of all, Id like to introduce myself. I am Dayanna and I am a 31 years old woman from Indonesia.

I happened to read a news on Yahoo! Singapore (http://sg.news.yahoo.com/video/indian-childcritical-brutal-rape-140310282.html) about child rape case. So ... this merely 5 years old girl not only was raped by a inhuman adult (I hope that was not another gang-rape case), she was also mutilated in her genital organs. And that inhuman adult, left her to die of her infections . She was in critical condition when she was first found by a passerby (bless him/her). Not to mention the earlier case about the woman who died of a gang-rape in a bus, the woman who killed herself after her abducter raped her. And it all happened in India in quite a short period of time. From these cases, I see that the value of a woman in India is very much trampled on. Woman is being seen as merely a sex object, a sex toy, a slave, and a thing. They are not appreciated in the most modest way. This is sad and this world is brutally sick. I was so shaken, so sad, so disappointed and was so angry to this world when I first read the news about this little girl. I wonder why people have become so brutal and heartless. A 5 years old girl, for heaven sake!!! The rapist must be not only inhuman, but also perverted in the worst way. I dont want to waste my time cursing the world, for I am also part of this rotten world. But what I want to ask is that is there really nothing we can do to stop all this madness? One thing I must mention about India culture which I strongly disagree. I once had a friend who liked to watch India films a lot. And she told me that the essence of India Movie is the dance and the raping. So according to her (at that time), in every India movies, there must be a lot of dancing, which of course, I agree for cultural reasons. But the raping??? Even if the knight in shining armor often came to the rescue in the movie, I strongly believe its not good to depict such scene in every movie!! It will create a stigma that We can rape every woman we see , which is totally bullshit!!! And .... in real life, not everyone has her own knight in shining armor. For those unluck y ones, they were raped and killed and totally left to fend for themselves. Is this a world were willing to live in??? Surely human rights organizations from all over the world can work together to push India government to do something about this? I hope women rights organization can stand up and do something about this. If we need to sign a petition about this, I am most than willing to participate. Just please .... help those helpless children and women.
