STATISTICAL DETAILS OF THE MISSION 02. Mission Activities at Don Bosco, Gedilam-Maranodai: The Salesian community at Don Bosco, Gedilam-Maranodai caters to the faith formation of the faithful in the parish, education to the deserving children of the parish and the locality through RC Primary School, Nursery & Primary school and Higher Secondary school, social uplifting programmes in and around Gedilam-Maranodai. Besides these, the boarding provides accommodation to the poor and deserving boys and girls. i. Vinnarasi Mission: The Parish comprises of 735 registered Catholic families, with 10 sub-stations. The Parish has altogether 32 Anbiams. There is daily mass in the main station, while once a week, mass is celebrated in the substations. All the sacraments, especially the sacrament of reconciliation is availed to the faithful regularly on Sundays. Adoration on First Fridays, Commemoration of MHC on 24th, and devotion to St. Antony are carried out well. The parish solemnizes its feast day during the solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady.

Other services offered at this centre are as follows: 1. Diploma course in Tailoring There are 20 students both married and unmarried women benefitting from this course. 2. Computer centre Basic computer knowledge is given to the deserving students and at present there are 2 students. 3. Self Help Groups There are 15 SHGs which are functioning well through regular follow-up and animation. Many social needs are addressed through them. MSMHC Sisters: The MSMHC sisters collaborate well with the Salesian community by taking care of the boarding for girls, teaching in the school, medical ministry and pastoral ministry especially helping out in the church activities and family visits.
