CHAIRPERSON WELCOMING ADDRESS 1.1 The chairperson welcomed all the English teachers and thanked them for attending the second meeting. 1.2 She highlighted that the main purpose of the meeting is to discuss on PKSR 1 examination result for year 4, 5 and 6 and the performance of KSSR pupils.

RAISING MATTERS 3.1. Post-mortem on PBS (KSSR). Based on the current performance of the pupils in English language subject, some problems have been identified. According to the assessment made by the teachers, most pupils usually carelessly made mistakes in writing activity especially in punctuation. 3.2 Post-mortem on PKSR 1. The year 4, 5 and 6 pupils had difficulty in answering Paper 2 because most of them had poor knowledge in vocabulary. As for Paper 1, the pupils were not able to answer the comprehension questions well. They could not understand the questions because they did not read it thoroughly. 3.3 The enhancement for the year 4 and 5 pupils is Program Kasih. The pupils who failed their English paper during the examination will be selected to join this special class. The class will be held one hour every Tuesday. Action: Year 4 and 5 teachers 3.4 For year 6 pupils, they will be attending English extra classes twice a week. The class will be taught by the year 6 teachers.

Action: Year 6 teachers 3.5 Various activities will be carried out to improve the mastery of English Language among pupils. The panel had decided to conduct an interesting activity which basically based on listening and speaking activity. It also will include the grammar parts such as preposition, verb and so on. This activity will start ten minutes before the recess ended every Tuesday and Wednesday. Action: All English teachers 4 OTHER MATTERS 4.1 English LINUS Screening Test for Year 1 pupils was successfully carried out and the pupils had been identified. The extra class will be on Monday for half an hour every week. The teachers are reminded to conduct the LINUS programme in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Action: Year 1 teachers 4.2 Teachers are encouraged to use drills methods during the teaching and learning process so that the pupils will remember the lesson well. The drills method could be conducted orally and in written form in the classroom. Action: All English teachers 4.3 All teachers need to keep on key-in the band in the SPPBS online system. Action: Year 1,2 and 3 teachers
