Introduction

What is a Flow Wrap Machine? These are automatic machines meant for high productions. Horizontal packing using a single film coil with three welding (sealing): two cross-seals and one longitudinal seal. This type of machine is aimed at food and non - food markets. Flow wrapping machinery is the most convenient and economic type of packaging for most of the products. The flow wrapping machines offer high speeds and good barrier properties for the products to be packed as the use of plastic films is made for the packaging of the same which is economical and giving better properties and aesthetics. It provides an innovative solution for the packaging of chocolates, biscuits, bakery, confectionery, fresh & frozen food, pharmaceutical and other products.

Basic Operating Principle:

This machine operates on the principle of horizontal form, fill and seal along with flow wrap of the product. A single web of material is fed from the reel mounted over the machine in-feed, while the product is either placed manually or automatically into the pockets of continuously moving in-feed conveyer. The web material passes through the folding box it is formed into a tube. The product passes through this box and is inserted into the formed tube. As this happens the in-feed carrier falls away and product is moved ahead towards the sealing jaw. A series of rollers seal the longitudinal seam and the final pair of fin turning rollers; fold the fin flat against the underside of the pack. The rotating end seal jaws close the end of the pack and the integral knife cuts the pack.
