Development

1. -What kind of activity did you perform the first time your guide teacher asked for your help?
How long did it take?

A= My first activity was to watch the girls while they were taking the diagnostic test, this took
almost 30 min. After that I had to read with the girls some typical phrases for example Can I go to
the bathroom?, Can I stand up?, Good morning, etc. and repeated it three times. This was an oral
activity to practice the pronunciation.

2. - What were the students doing before you started helping out? Who gave the instructions, you or
your guide teacher?

A= The students were stand up putting their pinafore, and my teacher guide presented me to the
girls, after that the test began.

3. - How did the students react? Describe the atmosphere of the room and the levels of engagement
in the room.

A= The girls had an extremely good reaction; they were very excited with the idea to have two
“young teachers” with them. It was a little difficult to silence the girls.

4. - What other assignments were asked you to do? How often?

A= My guide teacher asked me for help all time, I help her to check test or homework, to collect
some information to make activities, to practice pronunciation with the girls, etc.

5. - What activities or resources did you propose? Were they used? How effective were they?
A= Last class I proposed a homework, that consisted in cut out some different kind of clothes, to
sort them in the different seasons of the year and put their names in English. I propose this activity
with the idea of interesting homework to the girls. My teacher guide accepted this suggestion
because the girls are not motivated to do their homework. We do not know if this was effective,
because we could see the result next class.

6. - Were you asked to prepare any kind of special audio visual material for the required
assignment? How did the students like it?

A= No my guide teacher do not used audio visual material at the moment, because the girls has a
deficient English level, for this reason she firstly is worried about grammar and vocabulary.

7. – Did your guide teacher provide feedback on your performance in the classroom? How often?
How did you react?

A= I had a very good relation with my guide teacher, She is young and studied at UPLA too, So we
have many things in common, She is always telling me how to react in front of some situations?, or
How to do some activities?, I like to receive this feedback, because is an important way to learn
about How to be a good teacher. I am always available to receive tips of other teachers.
