EARTHQUAKE DRILL
Like apples of gold in settings of silver, so is a word spoken at the right moment... Every year, our school fall victim to natural disasters. Despite the fact that many of us experience these frequently during summer or the rainy seasons, many of us remain clueless as to what to do when disasters strike. One of the preparations made by our school is to conduct a drill. Last Thursday, March 01, 2012, at 8:00-9:00 AM, our school conducted a lecture on what to do BEFORE, DURING, & AFTER an earthquake. Colorful pictures where posted to arouse pupils interest/attention. Mrs. Lara Estayan, the lecturer peroration was that the key to effective is planning PUSH and ASAP (Pray Until Something Happens, Always Say A Prayer). At 9:30, the time for application, the bell rung once. The pupils inside the classroom covered their head with their palms and hid under a sturdy desk and table. At 9:40, when Joseph G. Escober whistled, the pupils took the fastest and safest way out. They got out calmly and in an orderly manner and moved to an open area. At 2:30, pupils were divided into three groups. They had an activity on applying first aid when accidents do happen. The Scouts led the activity like bandaging, survival technique, burns & fainting.
