Chapter 1 Overview

Paper-based Replenishment Process

Prior to the release of the current SSA Warehouse Management 4000 application, it did not have a base Paper-based Replenishment option. The ability to generate and maintain replenishment tasks from the SSA Warehouse management 4000 application without using Radio Frequency (RF) devices now provides an improved level of visibility and control. Modifications have been made to the SSA Warehouse Management 4000 application to address this change.

Changes Summary

1-3

Changes Summary

A new option has been added to the Warehouse Inventory menu called Replenishment (at the Warehouse level only, not the enterprise level). Create two new options have been added to the Warehouse Inventory Replenishment menu:

Generate Replenishment Task Maintain Replenishment Task

A new selection parameter screen has been created from which replenishments can be selected, and then generated (to a temp table). This includes selection by:

Storer Zone Commodities Pick Ranges Priorities Number of Tasks UOM/Pallet or ALL

Once the tasks are selected, a GENERATE button initiates the creation of Replenishment tasks based on the selected criteria.

Add two new system numbers into the System Administration Configure Server configuration:

REPLENISHGROUP REPLENISHKEY

A new Replenishment report has been created that displays the results of the selected and generated replenishments. (This report can be printed.) This report is given to a warehouse associate to physically complete the inventory movements and replenishments, and then return it to the Replenishment supervisor.

A new SSA Warehouse Management 4000 application Maintain screen has been created within the Maintain Replenishment Task Option form, from which the user can Delete, Confirm, and Reprint Replenishment Tasks (in the replenishment temp table). Replenishment quantities can now be adjusted based on the actual replenishment amount (within the confirm replenishment function). Inventory tasks can now be adjusted based on confirmed replenishment updates.

Chapter 1 Overview

Paper-based Replenishment Usage

Common uses for paper-based replenishment include:

Small operations with limited RF, forks or replenishment volumes Replenishments from a specific zone (high rise, freezer, security areas) into a pick area Remote satellite replenishments into a pick area Bulk or Batch replenishments of a specific group of products into a pick area Replenishment of dangerous goods or ugly products requiring manual labor or specialist equipment Overnight or change of shift replenishment of low priority stock into pick locations Piece pick of high priority items to pick face Any other special or ad hoc replenishment tasks not normally associated with RF replenishments.

Rules

1-5

Rules
The following rules apply when you use the Paper-based Replenishment functionality.

Paper-based Replenishments are managed at the Warehouse level, not at the enterprise level. Replenishments are not complete in the system until you click the CONFIRM button on the Maintain Replenishment screen. Clicking the CONFIRM button instructs the system to logically move the replenishments (as detailed) from the From location to the To location. The logical WMS system and the physical warehouse are now in sync.
