FOCAL POINT
Due to the 13.25m span required for the 3 track signal
cantilever and limited ground space available a lattice truss
construction was determined to provide the optimum design to
ensure tight deflection limits were met and to achieve a neat
economic foundation solution requiring only five steel driven piles.
The sub and superstructure analysis were undertaken concurrently
ensuring the optimum pile set out could be utilized without the need
for complex and unsightly transfer frames.
The structure is designed to be fully OLE compliant and each
dropper cage has a gated access to eliminate the inherent risks with
open access hatches which are present on many existing structures
across the network.
All analysis was undertaken in house and both the sub and
superstructures were installed by Aspin Foundations.
