Scenario Imagine that you have just been appointed into a management position in your organisation. This new position demands that you carryout certain responsibilities which are more outside of what youre current position entails. This assignment is to enable you prepare a personal development programme for yourself in-order to effectively carry out your activities in your current job. At the end of this assignment, you would have completed a programme of personal development that would enable you to acquire necessary skills to effectively carryout your daily responsibilities. Task 1 1.1 What are the appropriate methods to evaluate personal skills? Evaluate your personal skills to meet your future goal. 1.2 What are the professional skills needed for effective leadership and Management to meet the strategic goals and direction of your organisation Task 2 2.1 Carry out a comprehensive skill audit of yourself as a manager. Identify your current skills level with your potential achievements. This requires using SWOT analysis. 2.2 Explain the term learning and evaluate the more effective ways to learn in the future. Task 3 3.1 Prepare a personal development plan that would provide you with necessary skill requirements to meet your objectives and a potential organisation objectives identified in task 2.1using SMART goals. 3.2 Assess the outcomes of your PDP against those of your professional work objectives. 3.3 Evaluate the impact of your own learning against the achievement of strategic goals over a period of six months.

To pass this assignment, all the above criteria must be fully addressed. Assignment must be word processed and between 2000-3000 words. Learning outcomes and assessment criteria In order to pass this unit, the evidence that the learner presents for assessment needs to demonstrate that they can meet all the learning outcomes for the unit. The assessment criteria determine the standard required to achieve the unit. On completion of this unit a learner should: 1 Be able to assess personal and professional skills required to achieve strategic goals. 1.1 use appropriate methods to evaluate personal skills required to achieve strategic goals 1.2 apply techniques to assess the professional skills required to support the strategic direction of the organisation 2 Be able to conduct a skills audit to identify learning style. 2.1 carry out a skills audit to evaluate the strategic skills needed to meet current and future leadership requirements. 2.2 apply appropriate techniques to identify preferred learning style. 3 Be able to implement a personal development plan. 3.1 construct a personal development plan that meets leadership development requirements identified in the skills audit. 3.2 use suitable methods to assess the outcomes of a personal development plan against personal work objectives. 3.3 evaluate the impact of own learning against the achievement of strategic goals.
