Dear Friend Greetings to you from everyone at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church. I'm very thankful that the Lord is moving at the church. Our prayer is that He strengthens and blesses you and draws you closer to Him each day! There is a verse of Scripture that is on my heart. It is found in Deuteronomy 5:31, "But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee..." A lot of people do a lot of things: they say many things, negative or positive, they run here and go there, there are 6 billion opinions of how things should be, but the Lord said to His servant Moses, "But as for thee, stand thou here by me!" My mom would always ask us kids, "If your friends jumped off a cliff, would you follow them?" In other words, it doesn't matter what anyone else says or does: it's what you say and do that counts. All throughout the Scriptures I read where the Lord tells His people ,"Follow me," or "Come unto me all ye..." or in another place He said, "Come, let us reason together..." Why would I want to go anywhere else than next to the Lord Jesus? He is a faithful friend and the Bible says He sticks closer than a brother. Some people think that when the Lord calls them away from the things of the world it's for punishment, He's mean, or that He is somehow threatened by the spirit of the world; but that could not be farther from the truth. The reason He calls us away to Himself is because He said to Moses, "...and I will speak unto thee." God Almighty wants to speak to you! He wants to show you things and share with you things no one else can or will. He wants to pass on secrets of His personality and character to you. He desires to reveal His plans and insights to you that will enable you to be an overcomer. Who wouldn't want to know what the Lord is like? The only way He can do that is if you and me will stand right next to Him! The Scripture says, "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you" (James 4:8). Sometimes we get the wrong impression of the Lord. We might think He is too busy to bother with us, or that He is quick to leave us at the first sign of trouble. But the fact is His desire is towards us and everything He did was with us in mind.

Remember when we were kids during the summer we would hear the ice cream truck coming down the street? We would run into the house and beg our mothers for a dime so we could buy an ice cream cone. We were so worried he would drive off before we could get the money, not realizing he was there to sell us the ice cream. He would wait! He had everything we wanted and he would drive slow enough with the hope we would come running out of the house and stop him! He was there to look for whoever wanted ice cream, while our perspective was he didn't care if we came or not. That's similar to the Lord. He desires to save us, bless us, heal us, and give us eternal life; we wonder if He even cares. He gave His very life so we could live; we wonder if He will ever let us into heaven, so we go about trying to establish our own goodness, our own righteousness. I believe the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross is sufficient to cleanse every sin. Doing good is important but we are only saved because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us. After we receive His offer of redemption we need to go on to help others, but it is only through repentance and faith in Christ that we will be eternally saved. What a blessing it is to know that I am saved by God's grace through faith! It's not by my works, but salvation is God's gift to us! He gave us faith so we could believe He is the way, the truth, and the life! This life is for "whosoever will," which includes you! Let Him have His way in your heart and life today: you will never be the same! I invite you to our church so you can hear the Word of God and receive faith. The Lord will meet you there!
