(Ac 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church

unto God for him. {prayer...: or, instant and earnest prayer was made}
(KJV)Act 12:5)

Peter therefore was kept in the prison: but prayer was made without ceasing by the church for
him.

When Peter was locked up in the prison it was through earnest prayer that he was delivered.
Prayer was made without season for him. Prayer was made ceaselessly for him. A ceaseless
prayer is needed when someone is under the yoke of the devil or being imprisoned by the devil.

Then what is ceaseless prayer?

Ceaseless prayer is a prayer that doesn’t end until deliverance has taken place. It is a prayer that
does not end until miracle has taken place.

Ceaseless prayer is a planned prayer. It is a scheduled prayer for certain times while one is still
engaged in other activities in the day. It is prayer that one looked forth for after legitimate duties
in the day. It also continues when someone is less busy or having break in the work place. It is
not how long but the heart that is there.(2 Chron.16:9)

Ac 12:7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and
he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off
from his hands.

(KJV)

When prayer was made ceaselessly for Peter the Angel of the Lord came upon him. The Angel of
the Lord came upon him suddenly. He came to him surprisingly. Which means it was not Peter
or the Church who is praying for him that sought, looks for or brought this Angel. They were
only praying to God and it was God that sent His Angel to delivered Peter. Which means when
we pray God will intervene for us by surprise. When we pray there shall be divine intervention.
Divine intervention is not human plans, but God plans when men have prayed. Which means
there cannot be divine intervention unless temporal has work? There cannot be heaven
intervention unless men have prayed. When man prayed God works. Ref. Acts 9:11-12

The Angel of the Lord does not just come upon Peter because he was imprisoned. He does not
come to delivered him because he was in need. He came to help him because the Church were
busy praying for him. When nobody pray for James he was killed by Herod. God does not just
intervene in human conditions because they were in need. He intervenes because men prayed.
God does not just intervene in man’s conditions accidentally. He intervenes because He was
invited.
Covenant Precedes Prayer.

Ex 2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with
Isaac, and with Jacob.

(KJV)

God heard the groaning, the prayer of the Children of Israel and He remember His covenants
with their Fathers. Which means covenant precede prayer. Covenant is the principal thing. God
does not respond to us because we prayed rather He responds to us because of His covenant
with us. That is the reason why we need to know from the scripture what God said concerning
the situation we are passing through. We need to search out from the Bible God’s provisions
concerning our problems.

The Children does not cried to men in their predicament, rather they cried to God. We should
stop cries after men for help but we should learn to focus our attentions on God who only is able
to help us.

Another thing from that verse is that the covenant of God is not limited to man. It is for all
generations, it is for all men. But each man must discover personally these covenants and
personalize it to himself in relation to his need.

…….and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying,
Arise up quickly…

It was a light not many lights that shine in the prison of Peter’s life at this time. And this light
raised him up and instructed him concerning what to do for his deliverance to take place. Ref:
Luke 2:32.

A leader is a light.

A leader dispels darkness from the lives of people he is leading. He dispels darkness of
confusions in all areas of life from the lives of people he is leading. A leader makes the people to
see the way in the midst of darkness. He shows the people the way to freedom. Ref: John 1:5.

A leader is a raise of men.

The Angel also rose up Peter. A leader is a raiser of men. He supposes to raise men from their
predicaments. Ref: John 5:1-9

The Angel instructed Peter to rise up quickly. A leader is an instructor of men.

Ac 12:10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that
leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed
on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
(KJV)

The Angel led out Peter from the first and second ward and also from the Iron Gate. When they
came out the Angel departed from him. A leader does not lead on a man or men for ever. After
he has concluded his assignment in the lives of the people he is leading he need to depart from
them. He needs to go to other men that are waiting to be lead. Ref: John 8:39, Romans 15:21.

Ge 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

(KJV)

God thought of what He wanted to create. He knows what He wanted to do. Therefore none of
His creation was a product of trying and error. His creations were not products of experiment.

God foreknew what He wanted to do.

God knows what He wanted to do. And when He is doing it He knows what He will arrive at.

God creates in His imagination what He wanted to do.

Abstract: theoretical, intangible, non presentational.

Which means vision is a creation in one’s imagination. It is theoretical, intangible (vague), non
presentational, non figurative.

Ps 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members
were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. {all...:
Heb. all of them} {which...: or, what days they should be fashioned}

(KJV)

Though the vision look imperfect I.e. non presentational in the imagination. Yet,it is true. It is
from God.

Being imperfect is not an indication that is not from God.

And every parts of this vision are written, engrafted in the word of God.

Bible Expository Digest.

Making the Church to understand the Bible she is reading and for the rightful applications of
what It says.
Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because
I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

(KJV)

I can of mine own self do nothing

I cannot do anything by myself and from myself successfully. I need the input of others to be
successful.

Ref: Prov. 24:6. I can only know in part. I can only see the part of what God is showing me. God
want me to present it to others so that I learn from them. Ref: Gal. 2:2

as I hear, I judge

As I hear I respond to men. Just as I hear I responds to men. My relationship with men is
determine by what I hears from God. It was not men that determine how and when I should
dealt with them. Rather my relationship with them is determine by God, by the kind of things I
hear from Him.

I’m not moved by men or by the situations or by the circumstances around me but I am moved
by what I hear from Heaven. My behaviors in the world is determine and controlled by what I’m
hearing from God. Which means when the Bible says ‘as many as are lead by the Spirit of God
they are the sons of God. It means as many as are led by what he hears from God or by the kind
of things he hears from God these are the sons of God. The Spirit of God is a speaking Spirit. He
communicates the mind of God to us. Which means He lead us to live on the earth according to
the counsels of God for our lives.

Another thing is that God has given me a hearing ear to hear from God. Which means is not
everybody that has ear that hears from God. Ref. Lk. 14:35, Rev. 2:7. A hearing hear is a ear that
God has touch. A ear that God has awakened and resurrected. Such hears, sense, and feels the
thing of the Spirit.

Hearing hear is a gift from God to hear or to know the mind of God in the scripture as related to
our lives and to know the mind of God concerning any issues around us. Ref: Matt.13: 12. Which
means just as hearing ear is a gift from God so also doing it or obedient to the things I’m hearing
from God is a gift from God. Hearing and obeying are gifts from God. Ref: John 1: 12. When
obedient becomes gift or grace from God. Oh God just as you have given me grace to know your
will in your word give me grace likewise to obey it in Jesus name. So according to Romans 12: 6
and Ephesians 4: 7, it means that God gave individual of us gift according to degree of his
influence, faith e.t.c. Which means as your influence grows so also your gift grows. Ref: Matt.25:
15
as I hear, I judge

It means also that I’m responsible to the things I hear from God to obey it. It is I that hear it so
also it is I that will do it. It is I that is expected to do it.

as I hear, I judge

It means that I’m authorized by God to be a leader because I hear from Him. I have a reason to
lead men because I hear from God. I’m a leader because I’m privileged to hear things from God
which other could not hear. I have upper head above others because I have access to certain
information which others could not priviledge to hear or to know. Ref: John 3:31, 1 Sam 10:23, 1
Sam 9:2

He that hears from above is above all. He that hears from above has upper hand above others.
He that hears the thing that is above must be sitting above to hear the things that are there. Ref:
Col.3:1, Eph 2:6. John 3:13.

and my judgment is just

My dealings with men are just, are right because I’m not seeking my will but the will of Him that
sent me. My dealings with men are right because my actions and attitudes are not about me but
about God. It is about God’s glory. It is about His kingdom. God has sent me to do His will. How
does God sent me? He sent my given me His word. The word He has given me to proclaim is the
proof that He has sent me. Ref: Psalm 107:20. When God sent a man on an assignment, it His
word that He sends to that man.

Ps 60:9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? {strong...: Heb.
city of strength?}

(KJV)

The Strong city

It means the city of strength. E.g. Jericho. Joshua 6, Num 13: 17-33. A strong city is a defenceful
and attacking city. Ref: Joshua 2

A strong city is a strong man’s house. Ref: Mark 3: 27

A strong city is a strong hold of the strong man. Ref: 2 Sam.5: 7, Hab 1: 10, Psa. 89: 40, Isa.
23:11, 2 Cor. 10: 4.

Then what is strong holds?

Ro 9:21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel
for honor and another for dishonor?

(NKJV)

Potter

Jer. 18:2-3.The Potter’s house was down. His house was hidden, not visible. Ref: luk.1: 80
(lonesome/feeling lonely/abadoned, solitary), Psa. 139: 15

Power

Authority, mastery, control, influence.

The same lump to make one vessel unto honour. Ref: Gen. 2: 18-23, Eph 2: 10

A vessel for honour. A vessel whose destiny, whose prospect, whose, future is honour. A vessel
that belongs to honour. A vessel that answers to honour. A vessel that is destined to be
honoured. Ref: Gen 17: 4-5

2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and
clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.

21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified
and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

(NKJV)

(Joh 5:30) I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just;
because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Even though I have my own self from God yet I was not given to live or to act independently
from Him.

Rather my own self was given to be in continuous relationship with God the giver , so that it can
be strengthen through relationship to accomplish what it what to do from God. Ref: John 15: 4-
5.

(Dan 11:32) And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the
people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

It is through friendship or relationship with a man that we know a man. We can’t know God
until we start friendship with Him. So, it is through friendship with God that we will know Him.
And then receive strength, abilities or resources to do exploit.
Friendship with God > knowledge of God > Strengthen from God > Doing exploits for God.
Exod. 33:11, From the Scriptures Gifts of Holy Spirit, All good works.
2 Chron.20: 7, 1 Cor. 12: 1-11, Ministry Gifts, Eph. 2: 10

Col. 1: 10

Friendship with God involves creating time for Him. You have to create time for God in order to
walk with God, in order to communicate with Him. This friendship entails communication or
communion with God.

Making God known to Christians to have faith to be what God want them to be, to do what God

Text: Luke 9: 28-43
1. (Luke 9:28 KJV) And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took
Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

He went to a mountain, to a solitary place to pray. He presumed that he will be able to focus, to
be committed to his prayer if he goes to the mountain. He left a rowdy, a noisy, and a disturbed
place to pray. He has a burden, he has a need, he has a problem and the people around him have
not been able to help him. So he decided to come to the house of God to pour his burden to God.
For he believed that his prayer will be answered there.

Ref:
(Mark 5:28 KJV) For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

(Mark 5:29 KJV) And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her
body that she was healed of that plague.

2. (Luke 9:29 KJV) And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered,
and his raiment was white and glistering.

(Luke 9:29 MSG) While he was in prayer, the appearance of his face changed and his clothes
became blinding white.

a. While he was praying his countenance was changed, his countenance was altered.
Through his prayer to God his countenance was changed, the matter he presented to God was
altered. His need, his problem, the burden of His heart was altered through prayer.
His need was changed to provision through prayer, his problem was changed to solution
through prayer, his fear was changed to boldness through prayer, his heaviness was changed to
praise, and his mourning was changed to joy. Prayer is a mean and not an end. The ends are our
expectations, our desires from God.

Prayer connects us to God and God to us. Which means prayer is the mean through which God
changes things.

Ref:
(Isaiah 61:3 KJV) To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be
called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

(Isaiah 61:3 GNB) To give to those who mourn in Zion Joy and gladness instead of grief, A song
of praise instead of sorrow. They will be like trees That the LORD himself has planted. They will
all do what is right, And God will be praised for what he has done.

(Isaiah 61:3 MSG) To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses
instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid
spirit. Rename them "Oaks of Righteousness" planted by GOD to display his glory.

b. …and his raiment was white and glistering.

This verse is talking of beauty. His raiment was not white and not glistering before.
Now through prayer it became white and glistering. White means holiness and glistering means
shining.

Holy
(Leviticus 20:26 KJV) And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed
you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Shine
(Job 11:17 KJV) And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou
shalt be as the morning.

(Job 22:28 KJV) Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the
light shall shine upon thy ways.

3. (Luke 9:30 KJV) And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and
Elias:

(Luke 9:31 KJV) Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish
at Jerusalem.

-He was a man that is given to prayer, so he was not blind to his future. He was not blind to what
God is planning for him. He was not blind to the counsel of the enemy against him too.

(Luke 9:30 GNB) Suddenly two men were there talking with him. They were Moses and Elijah,

(Luke 9:31 GNB) who appeared in heavenly glory and talked with Jesus about the way in which
he would soon fulfill God's purpose by dying in Jerusalem.

-Through prayer he was able to get a direction in which he should fulfill God’s purpose.
Through prayer we are opportune to have a clear direction for our path.

4. (Luke 9:32 MSG) Meanwhile, Peter and those with him were slumped over in sleep.
When they came to, rubbing their eyes, they saw Jesus in his glory and the two men
standing with him.

Through prayer his glory appeared, through prayer his glory came into limelight.
Your glory, your honor, your splendor, your beauty which has been hidden before now shall
come into notice in Jesus name.

5. (Luke 9:33 MSG) When Moses and Elijah had left, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, this is
a great moment! Let's build three memorials: one for you, one for Moses, and one for
Elijah." He blurted this out without thinking.

Your great moment is coming after this prayer in Jesus name. This prayer will give you into your
great moment in Jesus name.
6. (Luke 9:35 KJV) And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved
Son: hear him.

We must seek to understand the interpretation of dream or vision that we had.

7. (Luke 9:37 KJV) And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down
from the hill, much people met him.

Through prayer His audience was attracted to him. Through prayer your customer will be
attracted to you. Through prayer you will discover and gotten your platform.

(Luke 9:41 KJV) And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall
I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

(Luke 9:41 MSG) Jesus said, "What a generation! No sense of God! No focus to your lives! How
many times do I have to go over these things? How much longer do I have to put up
with this? Bring your son here."

-How many times do I have to go over these things?

Until you understand, appreciated, or received the dealing of God with you for a moment He will
not take you to the next level. And God will repeat the matter to you continuously until you
understand it.

-How much longer do I have to put up with this?, yet you have not understood how I generate
power, how I generate boldness to do all these miracles?

Mountain of God
(Exodus 3:1 KJV) Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and
he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

(Exodus 3:2 KJV) And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the
midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not
consumed.

House of God
(Genesis 28:17 KJV) And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other
but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

(Judges 20:18 KJV) And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and
asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of
Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.

(Judges 20:26 KJV) Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto
the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and
offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
(Judges 20:27 KJV) And the children of Israel enquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the
covenant of God was there in those days,

(Judges 20:28 KJV) And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those
days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or
shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.
