These will be done after July 1st. Diane spoke with several people regarding the lot at the Boat Club which should now have signs. Diane reviewed the W. Medford business area to add a HP street parking spot. It will be across the street from the old location. A letter was sent to the Traffic Commission for action. Chief Sacco said there was discussion, but it was approved. Diane was supposed to meet with the new SPED PAC president, but she never showed up. Diane spoke to Marlene in the Veterans Department who informed her that there are many area Veterans with PTSD who could benefit from an information forum. Diane followed up with our Veterans point of contact Elizabeth Price, but has not heard back yet. It was suggested that the Veterans Office should be the lead in this initiation. Strategic Plan Review & Discussion for 2013 There are several items completed in our strategic plan, and we are in planning for several others over the next year that include issues involving both commissions. What Every Immigrant Needs to Know Forum Diane and Marie will meet over the summer to discuss a fall program. Old Business Health Disparities Update The Health Disparities forum went very well. We had over 40 people attend. David, Lois and Marie attended. Diane had notes and a DVD for review. To date we have some great positive outcomes; an additional community garden and the walkability study has begun. Lois is working with Penny and Erika to complete it.

Variance Requests & Updates One variance request; work performed at the Regal Condominiums on Winthrop Street. They are rebuilding a broken set of stairs at the end of the building. The door at this entrance leads you only to a set of stairs going up and another going down. There are accessible ramps on both sides of the building at mid point. Diane noted that the ramp would be extremely costly and provide no benefit to a person with disabilities. Marie motioned to send a letter of agreement to the AAB, Henry seconded, all in favor. Nappis was before the AAB on Monday and Diane was not present. They found in favor of the complainant (AAB staff) and requested a plan for compliance or a variance. Diane reminded Maury Carroll about the variance issue. He said the agreement is worked out and should be delivered to City Hall this week. The ramp and railings at Harvard and Winchester are in. Mystic Ave Bath has not begun their ramp. Diane suggested a follow up letter from the Commissions
