CIVIL ENGINEERING HYDROLOGY/CC606 15 WEEKS 2 NONE SHUHAIDA BT MD JAMIL/HAYAZI HANAFI/NORAIN BT ALI HYDROLOGY is a study of water properties, occurrence distribution and movement and their relationship with the environment within each phase of hydrological cycle. The course also examines water quantity and quality issues and water management policies.

CONTENT 1.0 BASIC OF HYDROLOGY This topic covers the definition of hydrology, hydrological cycle, the importance of water process in hydrological cycle, hydrologic continuity equation and hydrological data. 2.0 RAINFALL DATA ANALYSIS This topic covers the types of precipitation, types of rainfall, characteristics of rainfall, analysis of rainfall data, measurement of rainfall data, method of average rainfall and analysis of rainfall data. 3.0 SURFACE RUNOFF This topic covers the component of runoff, definition of surface runoff, interflow and base flow, calculation of stream flow gauging and Phi Index- method. 4.0 HYDROGRAPH ANALYSIS This topic covers the natural hydrograph, definition of unit hydrograph, produce unit hydrograph, duration change of unit hydrograph and application of unit hydrograph. 5.0 FLOOD ROUTING AND FREQUENCY This topic covers the return period, probability, frequency, flood routing with level pool routing and channel routing method (Muskingum method). 6.0 BASIC CONCEPTS OF URBAN DRAINAGE This topic explains parameters in Urban Storm Water Management Manual and the design channel using of Urban Storm Water Management Manual.
