A Resolution Supporting the Initiative of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan on the Creation of the Scholars Association WHEREAS, stipulated in Article III, Section 1 of the 2005 XU-CSG Constitution, the XU - CSG shall be the highest seat of student governance of Xavier University. Its officers shall represent its constituents in all university bodies and other association, both within and outside of the campus, which directly affect the students welfare and interests . WHEREAS, stipulated in Article III, Section 2 of the 2005 XU-CSG Constitution, The XU - CSG shall envision a government that is socially aware and involved, rooted in a clear grasp of reality and vigilantly responding to the general interest of its constituents in a dynamic, effective and united effort; a governance that is founded on the principles of authentic Christian humanism, thereby it shall be a pro-student, pro-people, pro-country, Christ centered and gives due recognition to the rights of those of other religious denomination. It upholds genuine student participation and democratic representation in a dialogical, consultative and non-violent manner. WHEREAS, last 19th of July 2013, OSFA had a consultation with the Student Representatives from the different colleges regarding its initiative on the creation of a Scholars Association as a student-led program of the said office. WHEREAS, the 20th Directorate perceived the creation of the association as a great asset in the holistic development of its constituents from the scholars sector. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 20th Directorate of the Central Student Government supports the initiative of the XU - Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid on the creation of the Scholars Association. Done this 2nd day of August, 2013 at Loyola Conference Room of the Magis Student Complex, Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro City, by the 20th Directorate in session assembled.
